My 11 year old son will start Hunira in a couple of days. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on what we can expect. He has Juvenile onset spondyloarthritis ## Hi Lulu, Based on my research, Humira (adalimumab) is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It works by blocking the action of TNF, a substance in the body that causes inflammation. In addition, Humira (adalimumab) has been shown to reduce the signs and symptoms of, and is approved for treatment of, ankylosing spondylitis. HUMIRA ("Human Monoclonal Antibody in Rheumatoid Arthritis") is marketed in both preloaded 0.8 mL syringes and also in preloaded pen devices (called Humira Pen), both injected subcutaneously, typically by the patient at home. For subcutaneous injection, the injection sites should be rota...

I have been taken off humira because I have to start treatment for latent tb. I have severe RA and am wondering when the severe pain is going to kick in. I have been off it a month and am feeling very little pain so far. I'm kind of nervous. Also, when I restart the humira, will I start feeling better right away? ## Based on my research, Humira (Adalimumab) is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Unfortunately, there's no way of knowing ahead of time how well a particular medication might end up working for you. Doctor's can only assume that it will be effective based on medical records, health, age, weight, whether or not you're taking other medications, body chemistry, e...

I have been taking humara now for 7 months and at about month 5 my gums started to bleed with the lightest touch, I also started to look like a teenager again with acne. And in the last month my skin has exploded with pimple like sores that pop to look like ulcers. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. My doc does not seemed to be to concerned with it but it sucks! ## Based on my research, there are some side effects of Humira (adalimumab) that could explain what you've been experiencing with the acne breakouts; but I have yet to find anything on the bleeding gums: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a603010.html Have you asked your doctor about any other alternative medications to help treat your condition?

I am travelling to Australia for one year in the next few weeks. I have 5 pens that will keep me going but was wondering if anyone knew the cost of the pens in Australia or if there was any scheme available over there which would cover costs for Humira patients?? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

IPlease help. In 5 weeks I'm taking an extended motoring holiday of Europe and will sometimes not have refrigeration available. I need a method which does not involve ice of keeping my humira syringes between 3-8degrees for up to 24hrs. I've spoken to Abbott Australasia reps twice and was extremely disappointed that they could not advise me on how to successfully travel with humira :) for this period of time. From other internet sites, I was recommended FRIO travel wallet/pack but it seems FRIO doesn't achieve 3-8degrees. I can't be the only one to have this problem. Any and all advice very welcome. Many thanks Annie ## I'm sorry about the problems you are having, but in reality planning such travel and trying to keep a medication at precise temperatures really isn&#...

Developed a sinus infection and was prescribed Sulfameth/TMP antibiotics and was told not to take HUMIRA until finished. Not sure how long to wait.. thhank you ## Did you ask your doctor? There aren't any interactions listed that I can find, so I'm not sure of the specifics. I'd assume it should be at least 24 hours after you finish the antibiotic, but you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be safe.
