Just took 10 mg doxepin for sleep it's been over an hour and haven't yawned. Have I allowed enough time to go by? I'm thinking I must be immune to it - never had it before but I don't feel a wink of sleepiness. I am thinking of grabbing seroquel but dont want to mix it and have a bad effect. But don't want to stay up all nite either. I'm stuck!!!

Silenor doesn't put you to sleep. It only helps you stay asleep (sleep maintenance).

Doxepin is an antidepressant, so while it may cause drowsiness, as a side effect, according to FDA reports, it will not actually knock you out like a sedative or sleeping medication would. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth.

Are you on any other medications?
