Ativan is NOT new, it was approved by the FDA and placed on the prescription drug market in 1977. The active ingredient is Lorazepam.

This is a Benzodiazepine, so in the same class as Valium or Xanax and just as addictive.

How long it takes to start working depends on your body and metabolism, it can range from 2 weeks to a month.

Some of the most common side effects include: sedation, dizziness and weakness.

Just been put on gabapentin for pelvic pain caused by interstitial cystitis. First week is 100 mg three times a day. Hard to believe but first three days felt like my old self but now pain is back. Was that unusual or does that happen. Also will it help me as time goes on
My doctor wants to slowly increase it.

Hello to all.

Ok, I am 44 with Multiple Sclerosis. I've now had for 26 years. I'm telling of this because I just began reading this page or site. I've taken 6 Ativan per day (1mg each) since 1993. Then very shortly after only because the Navy placed me on Beta seron shots which caused way to much pain! After about 2 to 3 mths of taking that horrible shot I was started on Gabapentin/Neurontin.

For 19 yrs I took that s*** and decided it made my life not much of a life at all!! I totally stopped putting that toxin in my body after roughly 19 yrs. Just 3 yrs earlier I said no more gabapentin/neurontin for me. I am so much better now. My life is actually worth living!! The shots made me feel like I had the flu everyday. The gabapentin /neurontin made me feel drunk ALL DAY EVERYDAY! I wanted my life back :o)

I gotta share to those of you who are taking Gabapentin, there is now a case against the makers of this! Be careful people and take care.
