The half-life of Seroquel, which contains the active ingredient Quetiapine is roughly 6 hours and, in general, it takes 5 to 6 half-lives to clear out of your body, so the actual clearance time would be only 30 to 36 hours.
It can take 4 weeks, or so, for your body to adjust to not having it and return to normal, but it doesn't take that long to actually clear the drug from your body.

Quitiapine Fumarate 50 mg, how long does it take to clear for a drug test. It's only used to get a deep sleep and my husband has a rx, I plan to ask my doctor for it next time I see her
But in case I go to test for this new job I'd like to know. And do they even look for this on a drug test?

I have been taking quetiapine 25 mg for a few days for sleep and anxiety for a few days found this was to strong made me feel spaced out the next day then I halved the dose for a week still finding it help me sleep but the next day having the same affect .decided to stop it as I can't function the next day . Been back at work for two days spaced out driving to work and at work and only start to feel ok in the afternoon .. How long is the effect of the drug in my system or is it out after 24 hours ??

My mother of 86 years old has been taking Seroquel for 25 years 100 mg and also 15mg of Abilify. She is off the abilify for 6 weeks and now is weaning off of Seroquel which she is now down to 1/4 of her dosage I have been cutting down her pill as instructed by her doctor. She went off the medication because she was showing Parkinsons side effects. Her left leg shaking while walking and she could not always get it to work for her like dragging it. Now that she is down to this low amount of Seroquel she is super slow at walking. She also has Depakote that she takes at night that one tablet 250mg.
How long will this last or is there no hope for her to get better it seems like this change is depleting her walking. Is there any hope for her? Will it get better

Find something, natural. I have been taking this for 5 years and I am going to wean off. This poison has done more harm than good. If you really do a hard reseach, you will run as fast as you can. ANYTHING that messes with the chemicals in your brain are deadly. It will also mess up your nervous system and your nerves control everything.

This is a bad drug. My son’s dr had him on a high dose for nine months, never checked his blood.
He was 19 years old and I found him dead in his bed. Toxicology. Quetiapine only. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG.

To the person who isn't a self-absorbed sea-sponge; it could be that this side effect wears off in a few weeks but it might also never wear off and if you're looking for a long-term solution to sleep issues please consider something else - I cannot tell you how hard a drug it is to withdraw from without scaring the people who really need (!!!!!) it and there are other, much safer meds than SQ; even on a low dose seeing as that's apparently important to some.....
