I will be going for a job interview at some point next week, more than likely it will be early in the week ( in about 3 days) today i took 4 10mg methadone pills. It will be a saliva test that i have to take, how long will the drug be detectable in a saliva test?

Im going for a saliva test next Tuesday. i took 15mg of methadone on this Wednesday. will it show up. this is for a pain management doctor. please give. me some good news!!! i appreciate your help

Hi kayla..When is your swab? If you only took 1 10mg pill, chances are test will be show positive IF swab is done within 10 days..unfortunately, methadone stays in system longer than a lot of other meds, esp if you have taken it for more than a few months.Good luck..

Hi Robin, I have a similar case as u did. My question 2 u is, did your case worker know about your methadone usage before the drug screening? Did you notify your screener before the test? Did u do urine or swap? What state was this in? Acs started asking me to do drug test but I havent because of my methadone. Everythings been good except that. And I dont want To tell them about my methadone. I dont want new excuses. Please respond. Thank you

No, no, no....methadone can not be detected in a drug screen because it is SYNTHETIC. They can only find it if they are specifically looking for it. Trust me: #1 I'm a Registered Nurse and #2 I had to do drops 3x per week for 9 months when my ex husband was fighting me for custody. I have been taking Methadone daily for pain reasons for 3 years. It was NEVER positive...NOT ONCE.

Hi Serenity,

Methadone can be detected in your saliva for up to 1-10 business days. Just joking about the 'business' days part. LOL!

Although in 3 days time, it's still questionable as to whether or not the drug will be detected; but if you have a prescription for Methadone, then you should be fine just presenting the script to whom ever is testing your saliva, so you're not held accountable for a positive result.
