Hospital Gave Me Methadone Instead Of Zubsolv

Updated

I was given 3 x 10 mg doses of methadone in the hospital. The last 10 mg dose was yesterday at 6 pm when I realized the mistake and had them stop it. I am now home and need to take my zubsolv but am scared to. They know nothing about mixing the two at hospital and were no help. How long before I can take my zubsolv? I take a half a pill per day please answer ASAP. I am very sick.

You usually have to be in full withdrawal, before you can take Zubsolv, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Taking it too soon could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawals.

These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I am very sick and have not taken my zubsolv. I have a staghorn stone the size of my kidney so I was given dilauid IV push every hour with methadone given for break through without my knowledge. So now I am home with nothing cause I am afraid I take my zubsolv. I have rapid pulse, migraine headache, and nausea and cannot sleep. I really need my meds but so afraid. Just need some good solid trustworthy advice.

I had a problem similar to yours but with suboxone & Percocet. I tried to take Suboxone instead of Percocet thinking it would work better. It wasn't helping with pain so I asked my doctor to put me back on Percocet. I waited 1 day and continued on Percocet with No I'll effects. Your taking that low dose of Methadone which is a terrible medication, I wouldn't think you'll have any problem taking your Subslov. Just start slow just in case you do have a problem but I don't think you will but like I said start with a half or quarter of medication, not a whole pill.

I just need to add this, when I had a U/A at my pain clinic both medications showed up. I had no problem whatsoever.

They gave you very little methadone so I’d wait 24 hours, 36 if you are paranoid about it the resume your script as usual. I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you.

Hello, I assume that this medication Zubsolv is like Suboxone (Buprenorphine and Naltrexone combined), and I know Methadone very well too, was even combining them together with one day pause before so trust me, I know what can it do to you if you take it before the Methadone wears off! Firstly, if You were given a lot of Methadone (more than 60mg), you MUST wait day or two because, how you feel now is nothing compared to how you COULD feel if you mix them. The withdrawal from it is not like “normal” withdrawal symptom, it’s very, very hard, unpleasant and long-lasting, it’s like you can feel it’s chemistry induced withdrawal, and I would recommend You to wait as much as you can to take your Subzolv. If You really can’t wait anymore, prepare yourself for bed in case the withdrawal hits you, have plenty of fluids by bed, something you can vomit into, have toilet paper ready etc, because, you wouldn’t be able to do normal stuff like searching for it while in that kind of state. It starts very mildly but gets to plateau in about 2-3 hours and lasts for about 24 hours max.

One good thing in everything-it may not even hit you, happened to me lots of times and the time difference was about 12 hours between Methadone and Suboxone. It’s a bit like Russian roulette, it may hit you or it may go without it. If you take VERY small dose of Subzolv, it may be ok, and if you get just chills, it will pass very quickly, don’t worry... My thinking is-wait as much as you can and when you’ve had it, take very small amount of your medication and it will be ok. Please, let us know how it went, and wish you pain free life! Good speed!

This is a pharmacy question, where ever you filled your script call them. Or u could call your doctor.
