High Pulse Laser Treatments

Updated

I am interested in hearing from anyone who has used this treatment for back & or Knee problems.....
My right knee has bone on bone in one area, along with it being arthritic. A few weeks ago I learned of this being treated using a Laser....I have had 7 or 9 scheduled treatments, each 20 minutes, and each costing $75.
I knew Medicare did not cover them, but am now awaiting word from my secondary insurance. My pain for the most part is less than before I started treatment,
but I am by no means 100% pain free. If my insurance company picks up part of the payments I will continue treatment to see if it gets any better,

there are Chiropractors on both coasts now claiming they can treat and heal everything from an aching back to bone on bone knee problems, with 20 minutes of a high plushing Laser light. They recommend a minimum of 10 treatments to see this therapy work for you.Not covered by Medicare that's $700 out of your pocket....I did 9 sessions, MON WED & FRIDAY for three weeks.
After 3 or 4 sessions it seemed like I was experiencing less pain...but the last few days my pains returned, I think I am back to square !

Hi, Joe! Sorry that you are still in pain.

Yes, they do make a ton of claims about these light therapies for everything, but it's really not proven to help any medical condition in most cases. It sucks that you had to spend so much money to find that out.

What other treatments do you use for your knee?

the surgeon that did my left knee 6 years ago....ordered a brace, that I've worn twice, and seems useless....(they billed Medicare & my supp;; $900)....and the last thing possible was to get three injections (over 3 week period) in to right knee....
It seemed to help to a degree....but I know that there's going to another total knee replacement needed.
