Re: Bella (# 137) Expand Referenced Message

Kudos bella,..amen..I get to upset when ever I hear anyone say addiction is a choice, someone made the Choice to put that pill or drink or whatever into the body...all it takes is possibly getting hurt then getting prescribed..the people who say anything negative about addiction or blame,...they just have no clue, but have no knowledge..if they have no knowledge? Then keep your mouth shut..I think if people who are here posting on a page like this should have some kind of knowledge...but apparently NOT.. I'm sorry for your loss, it hits close to home...

Re: ThunderHeart (# 132) Expand Referenced Message

I disagree with you..this opioid war in most definitely not from junkies, it's from the sackler family putting out a very addictive medacine and miss leading doctors who prescribe..do you think junkies are the only ones who died?. And because you made me come to your level of even saying the word junkies..shame on you..it take a bit of knowledge, so if you have none,...dont speak about the topic

Re: Charlene (# 140) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you. Finally someone who gets it. I sometimes think some people who come on here are not as sick to take pain meds but do so out of being addicted themselves. But they will never admit it. As for those who need pain meds to end their suffering from diagnosed illnesses and broken limbs my heart bleeds for you. I have multiple diagnoses and not young, but if I were young I’d never touch drugs ever. Unfortunately most of us get something after 50-60 or before that leads to awful diagnoses and chronic pain. Before you call an addict the J word, look on the mirror and/or educate yourself because if you haven’t lived it... looked at it... saw the suffering from the addict and the relative with no help available, shut it. Just so others understand, more dentists give out pain meds than any doctor combined... and to young kids, but that’s not my business. Somehow, somewhere Charlene you have been close to this and if you had a loss, I too am sorry.

Here you go Bella, Don't blame Trump for the Electric Chair. He still has no clue about street drugs and prescribed drugs for chronic pain patients. If the link doesn't have one click to activate it, then copy and paste it into your address box. One thing I can say is that if it weren't Trump it would probably be some other president or someone else meddling with the opiates.

politico.com/story/2018/03/01/donald-trump-death-penalty-suggestion-opioid-crisis-376176

Imagine a chronic pain patient caught with pills for their REAL ailments. I guess the chair would get rid of a lot of pain!!! In fact, ALL OF THEIR PAIN!

Re: Charlene (# 142) Expand Referenced Message

Well, I'm not going to use the word j***** because I'm sure when they were young and you asked them what they wanted to be in life, I'm sure it wouldn't be that. But let's get real. I'm sure there are more dying out in the streets because of problems such as not knowing what they are getting, what dosage to use etc.. I do have to mention this. A girlfriend's daughter had really trashed her apartment, had all kinds of scary people coming over knocking and going through the daughters window and threatening Mom etc. I remember Mom was so scared for their lives. Mom has been sick (has lymphoma and goes to treatment at the hospital because she was very weak) the daughter had no compassion for her. Stole anything she could get her hands on and practically cleaned out everything that was Mom's while Mom was in the hospital, said and did some other horrible things to her that I'm not going to mention. Then left her with a trashed apartment, no money and Mom could barely function when she came home. Mom finally kicked her out and got the people from Council on Aging to help her get back on her feet. NOW, I'm not saying all or even a few addicts are like that but I think drugs really got ahold of this girl real bad. She also has warrants for her so it's only a matter of time. And dig this, Mom actually knows where she is living and will not turn on her after all she did to her. All Mom can do is pray and hope that one day her daughter will get the help she needs and get her back as she was before it is too late.

Re: Corinne (# 15) Expand Referenced Message

I really like the attitude that you present. Damnit, if they are so afraid to make me or maybe you addicted because of chronic pain suffering, WELL LAY IT ON ME. I'm 62 and had been diagnosed with Cervical Spondylosis since my mid 30's and been suffering with this pain while I worked full time. Now I am disabled/retired and who gives a damn if I am addicted...just please give me relief. I lived my life probably to its fullest mostly in pain and been ready to die because of all of the added pain and surgeries I've been through. I would call it a blessing if my maker took me today. If anyone has been in a torture camp, I can probably imagine what they have been through. We all have to go some day, it's just when. At this point in my life, it makes no difference if I am addicted or not. Just as long as I'm not suffering. So why do people in Washington want me to suffer just to stay alive? I didn't ask them to be my God nor do I consider them to be my God. So why do they have to play God with my life? Please let the real God run my life.

Re: etech (# 144) Expand Referenced Message

This person is just a shell of herself. The drug took over, it was not her but the drug that did this, for if she was in her right mind this would not happen. So let’s ‘get real’ as you put it. Why hasn’t she been put into rehab? Any family members willing to help out? Tough love does not work. In fact it makes it worse. None of us know why the choice becomes a bubble in which they cannot get out of. I understand the mother is too weak to become involved, then section her.
I see this story you have said you think justifies the J word. But it doesn’t.

Re: Bella (# 128) Expand Referenced Message

Look. I am not sure what your are responding to. If a person is in constant pain, they should be able to increase the quality of their life by taking painkillers. This should be a matter between a chronic pain suffer and his or her doctor. The State has no business getting in the middle of that relationship.

Re: methadonehater (# 146) Expand Referenced Message

I agree 100% what is it you don’t understand? It’s not the state it’s the AMA having conferences with the doctors everywhere trying to cut down. I don’t think it fair but unfortunately this is how it is... and btw did you know pain meds actually cause more pain hence the business of Big Pharma. Not Trumps fault he’s trying to stop the drugs from coming over killing our kids. Build the wall!

Re: Bella (# 147) Expand Referenced Message

Oh, but the States are at this time trying to pass laws to get chronic pain suffers cut off. If these laws are passed they will go to the State courts, of course those with chronic pain will most likely lose. At that point it will end up in federal court. If t will end up in Federal court punts, it will end up in the supreme court.

Re: methadonehater (# 150) Expand Referenced Message

During the recent Interim Meeting of the American Medical Association, the organization’s president, Dr. Barbara McAneny, told the story of a patient of hers whose pharmacist refused to fill his prescription for an opioid medication. She had prescribed the medication to ease her patient’s severe pain from prostate cancer, which had spread to his bones. Feeling ashamed after the pharmacist called him a “drug seeker,” he went home, hoping to endure his pain. Three days later, he tried to kill himself. Fortunately, McAneny’s patient was discovered by family members and survived.

This story has become all too familiar to patients who legitimately use opioid medication for pain.

Re: methadonehater (# 150) Expand Referenced Message

More troubling are recent press reports, blog posts, and journal articles that describe patients being refused necessary medication or those dismissed by their treating physicians, who practice in fear of regulatory reprisal. At the interim meeting, the AMA responded to these developments, passing several resolutions against the rash of laws and mandatory policies that limit or prevent patient access to opioid painkillers. IT'S THE AMA!

I have tried all the natural crap and spent a fortune does not work if you truly have severe pain. Maybe for those that have the occasional ache. Physical therapy sucks too.

I will try to work out something to how you all can get to the web page and get back to you.

I agree with you on everything! Even the part that it's not the governments business to be or get involved in the pharmaceutical business. I pray that God intervenes with this !

Re: Etech (# 154) Expand Referenced Message

Ok guys and gals, I will try to direct you to this government page and you can let off some steam to them. Firs of all try to copy and paste this web address to your address box and it is a long one. If you can't do that I will try to give you the short version. The address is: fda.gov/advisory-committees/advisory-committee-calendar/june-11-12-2019-joint-meeting-drug-safety-and-risk-management-advisory-committee-and-anesthetic. Scroll down to where it says Electronic Submissions. In that first paragraph at the very end you will see a web address stating regulations.gov and click on that.

Then you will come into a page at the top says (Regulations.gov) on the left side of the page. Then toward the right side top of the page just across from the Reg.gov, you should see 3 tabs at the top saying SEARCH...BROWSE..LEARN. Click on SEARCH. Toward the top left to the right of the page you should see (Make a difference, Submit Your Comments and let your voice be heard... Just underneath that you should see a rectangular box... In the box at the top it says Search for Rules, Comments, Adjudications or Supporting documents... Just beneath that is a magnifying glass in an oblong circle box and type in COMMENT there. Then to the right of that click on Search. This should bring you to another page and at the VERY TOP there is another oblong circle with a magnifying glass to the right of it. Type in OPIATE in there and click on the magnifying glass. This will bring you to the page I did a real b**** on. Go about 4 topics down where it says (Fixed Unit of Use Blister Packing For Certain Immediate-Release Opioid Analgesics. For treatment of Acute pain) and so on. Click on the COMMENT NOW BOX to the right of the page next to the topic. This should bring you to the "B**** PAGE" is what I call it- OR COMMENT page... The topic is a little off but it is the only one open for comment and also the closest one i could find. All of the rest seem like they are closed for comment anyway. When you get to the COMMENT page let them hear all of your problems as you do with medchat. That's what I did. Hopefully someone will hear us. let me know if you have any problems and I will try to help. Also what I will do so you shouldn't have to enter that long web address, I'm just going to copy and paste the paragraph and hopefully that will be easier. Here is the paragraph along with the web address: I will put the web address in parenthesis for you: but just use only one of them, not all 3 that I parenthesized.

Electronic Submissions - Submit electronic comments in the following way:

Federal eRulemaking Portal: (regulations.gov). Follow the instructions for submitting comments. Comments submitted electronically, including attachments, to (regulations.gov) will be posted to the docket unchanged. Because your comment will be made public, you are solely responsible for ensuring that your comment does not include any confidential information that you or a third party may not wish to be posted, such as medical information, your or anyone else’s Social Security number, or confidential business information, such as a manufacturing process. Please note that if you include your name, contact information, or other information that identifies you in the body of your comments, that information will be posted on (regulations.gov).

On the comment page you can choose to remain anonymous or state your name as I did. They asked me the organization name and I put Many Pain Sufferers and Medchat. I could have put The US Pain Foundation but I wanted to speak for you all. Please try to do this so we can get our voice heard.

Re: Liberty (# 3) Expand Referenced Message
Tried to sign the petition but, unfortunately, such petition showed "closed". Endorsing this petition is really important to me. Any suggestions? Is there a way to reopen the original petition so that I may sign and share it, or should a new one be started?

Re: Liberty (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you for this. We pain patients need to submit our thoughts & needs to lawmakers, & have them hear something besides this “opioid crisis” nonsense. Why is it suddenly a crisis?? Most of us have been on our meds for a very long time, without issue. There will always be abusers OD-ing , & we can’t change that. If someone really wants to abuse drugs & overdose, that isn’t the problem of all the millions of pain patients!
