Hello Can Someone Help Me????

I suffer excruciating pain from ibs. I had these pains for over 20 yrs. Now I was taking donnatal phenorbital Belladonna's which now I was told not longer covered its 1,000 for 90 pills for 30 pills 230.00 how is someone on Medicare Medicaid suppose to afford this?? And why they stop making it I have no clue. Now I got no more med. I call my GI and he had only 4 pills as a sample. These people are crazy do they think we are a bank? And the ins. Don't want pay cover for them. I don't understand does anyone know if something else works like donnatal cuz these spasms are not joke when you have ibs its horrifying the other day I had go Er. Yeah then you can give yourself a name drug addict cuz everytime you go the only thing they can do give you shot ativan send you home. Now I really don't want to live like this. I got chronic back pain plus these spasms u cannot control cuz they come like unknown callers, you don't know how or when its going hit you. But when it does guess what my friends u can't even walk or eat, you have to lay down with warm compress and it totally ruined my social life cuz you can't enjoy eating and going to social events when you have ibs, you see people or family don't understand your pain. All they know is say ohh you must be sick in the head. but my head is fine. I got MRI of my brain and trust me I'm ok thank god. Now I know no one wants take meds who wants to? No one I don't even want take Tylenol or advil cuz it states on their liver damage. I feel these end days coming but I don't know what to do! I feel like revelation like that mark of the beast you know what I mean??? If u don't believe me go on youtube, you see the president is an anti-christ and the pope, then u got those Illuminati anti-christ Satan worshipers. I don't know but things aren't looking so good. I hope some one read this cuz I really like to know where I can get this donnatal and if something similar that u can take to substitute it since its not covered. Now a recall well why wasn't a recall 20 yrs ago??? And manufacturing this meds all sudden they don't make no more are we just suppose sit back say ohh ok Medicare we understand you don't want cover we just sit here in pain just make u happy. Well the hell with that bs. They need to start making sure that millions people that are suffering with this disease to start making something to alleviate the pain. End story!! I wish I just get out this country cuz they don't want help you for anything its a shame!! If someone knows any other meds please write on Here!!!! Thank you for reading this I feel your pain all u ibs suffering its sucks to have this!!! Sad part is I'm allergic to so many meds!!! I'm lost I don't know what to do!! :(

When I was having an IBS.D attack, I found that my librax meds had gone from $40 for 60 to $350 for 60. The brand Donnatol was $350 for 30! I opted for Levsin, which was $60 for 60, but they didn't work that well. So I went online and found Heather Van Vorous. She is the founder of a website called helpforibs. She's had ibs since she was 9 years old and her ibs was very painful. She's developed several wonderful products (for both ibs.d and ibs.c) you can find on her website, plus she's now written 2 books about it. I ordered her kit, which contained all of her products, because it came with a very nice laminated chart of foods that helped and foods that hindered my ibs. (Her products are also sold separately.) My favorite product of hers is a peppermint oil capsule that is specifically made to dissolve in your intestines and soothe them. It is also available at all the CVS stores. It is called Heather's Tummy Tamers Peppermint Oil Capsules with ginger and fennel. I take these 2-3 times daily. The cost is about $22 for a bottle of 90 enteric coated softgels. I highly recommend her website, even if just for the information that she has! She has the most current information about ibs and medications than any website I've seen. (I am not associated with this website. I am just an ibs sufferer who happened upon it and found it to be the best for information and products.) Also, if you call or email with a question, she will call or email you back! (She does this free of charge! This proves to me that she is really concerned about your ibs problem and not just out for your money.)

Sorry to hear that you are going thru this. I had the same issue 2 years ago...donnatal or a mixture, called (GI cocktail) was the only thing that helped me. Medicare has decided not to cover this medication, as they feel it is unsafe for those 65 and over (I was 50 and on disability). It potentially poses a fall risk, due to drowsiness. If a drug is on the Beers list, (healthinaging.org/medications-older-adults) insurance companies will not pay for it, even with a valid prescription. After an internet search, I found rxoutreach.org, and they have a program that supplies Donnatal free of charge, with a valid prescription!
