Has Anyone Been Given Desoxyn

Updated

Desoxyn seems to be given to some. I for one have never had it or anything close, legal or not. If you did use it, was it effective or was it too much to tolerate. What was your experience?

I haven't taken it yet. Pharmacies like CVS and Ralphs don't have it and other pharmacies I've called need the actual written prescription to tell me if they can even fill it. So I have to get the physical prescription from my Dr. and drive around and ask. I'll let you know asap.

Desoxyn is new news to me as well. One thing I don't understand though is why/how doctors are able to justify writing prescriptions for what is widely recognized to be an illicit/illegal substance (more commonly known as Methamphetamine). For the FDA to approve Methamphetamine (Desoxyn) seems to me like a slap in the face to law enforcement. They make a valiant effort to get it off the streets, and now it's being put into the hands of doctors to give back to patients anyways? In my opinion, just because it's being prescribed doesn't make this particular substance any less of a risk factor to one's health, well-being, and addictive tendencies. Methamphetamine is Methamphetamine whether a doctor recommends it or not. What is big pharma becoming!? Next thing you know doctor's will be prescribing psychedelics and rave drugs at the rate it's going. I'm baffled.

I'm not sure if it's a slap in the face of law enforcement but I think FDA can ease up on the scheduling of some drugs. I agree methamphetamine is abused and has high potential to be abused more than some other drugs but if it can be used as medicine I'm all for it. Funny you should mention "Rave Drugs" I just read an article about FDA approving Molly (Pure "E") for PTSD. Google it. But again if it can help some folks and can be studied and made safe then I'm all for it.

Kim is a pseudo name
Anyone using my actual name is highly unprofessional. Desoxyn is a legit Rx for some.

@Ty,

Thanks for responding. I can certainly agree with your point of view in the sense that everyone reacts/responds differently to these types of drugs. Sometimes I just get the feeling that the FDA will do whatever they can to prevent others from doing something "illegal" and yet turn it around to sell it themselves for their own profits. Sorta like, "You can't do this because it's illegal. But we can, because we're the FDA". That type of thing really gets on my nerves. And not to get off topic, but I also see it happening with medical marijuana as well in some aspects. Basically if people can make money from it, the FDA will try to be only one's who can do so legally and boldly stand above the law so to speak.

By the way, I have also read about "E" being beneficial for those with PTSD and even psychedelics. I'm all for alternative treatments, but just wish the FDA would lighten up (like you said) on the scheduling of certain substances. It has been a long time coming.

@Kim,

Not to come off as rude, but I'm not sure why you felt the need to comment on people using your actual name? Kim is a fairly common name in my book… Using it as a pseudo name also shouldn't matter as we are all anonymous here anyways.

@David
Agreed about FDA. Sometimes they make it out to be such a "Bad/Addicting" drug but if you do it under supervision then it's ok. Because apparently if it's under their supervision any drug Meth or Marijuana isn't as bad as they say. But that's another topic.
So. hopefully I'll find a compounding pharmacy to fill this prescription. I'll keep you up to date.

Re: David (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

@David believe it or not I have used E in a clinical/therapeutical setting with a licensed therapist. put it this way she was very educated and intelligent she also had rules so she did not get into trouble, I had to source my own however she did provide (they were on the counter in her office) small reagent test kits to make sure what what I had wasn't something harmful. she asked how I am affected by it if I had taken in the past etc etc. basically took controlled amounts staggered through our 2 hour session. in those 2 hours I got more trauma resolution than in the previous 15 years. I'm not sure why it's not used mainstream because in therapeutic setting its a wonder drug. basically don't need anytime to warm up to a new therapist and had no problem going into details that I had never shared. I suggest you find someone even a hippy with no degree but someone that has experience in trauma work bc you don't want to open that can of worms with out a resolution

Re: Hawk (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

@Hawk, have you tried dextroamphetamine (dexedrine / zenzedi) or adderall (mixed amphetamine salts dextro / levo)? How does it compare?

Re: David (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

@David Hopefully you know by now Crystal Methamphetamine is not the same as Methamphetamine pills.

Street meth is obviously unregulated and no idea how much impurities or what else is in it. Plus the recreational dosage of crystal meth is much higher. Also, smoking, injecting etc. is a much different delivery system than pills.

It might be beneficial to look something up on google before making such a rash uninformed judgement about something.
