I was prescribed this stuff for pain relief after a tonsilectomy...bottle reads: 400 HYDROCODONE/ SOL APAP Take 2-4 teaspoonfuls every four hours as needed. My question is, is there a way to tell how many milligrams each of hydrocodone/acetominophen per teaspoon? I am concerned about the APAP as we all know it is toxic to the liver in high doses and would like to know how much is in each dose I take so I can monitor it. I am assuming the 400 on the bottle corresponds to that, but I don't know how it applies (ex. per teaspoon, or per reccomended dose of 2-4 an hour). Seems to me its a lot harder to find info on ratio of hydro. to APAP in liquid form, wheras it is almost common knowlege for the tablet-forms. If someone could help me on this matter it would be great!
Thanks in advance.

LOL! I keep changing my post here as I am trying to find information for you.

Anyway, as far as I can tell this is only available in a dosage of 500mgs of Acetaminophen (Not 400) and 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone per 15mls, which would be 3 teaspoons.

Thanks! That makes alot of sense...3 teaspoons would be the same dose as 7.5/500 tablet. I wish they would put the dosage info. directly on the bottle though....then maybe we wouldn't have a need all these forums online, trying to find out just what the heck we are taking lol!

Thanks again!

Was prescribed 300 Hyrdocodone-APAP solution after surgery. What is the equivalent in pill form. It does not say the milligrams. The directions are to take 1 Tablespoon every 8 hours as needed. It doesn't seem to be very effective. What is 1 Tblspn equivalent to? Is it like one 5 mg

My children were prescribed this after a tonsil extraction and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen oral solution is generic for Lortab Elixir. Every 15mL is equivalent to one 7.5mg/500mg Lortab tablet. The only difference between Lortab and Vicodin ES is that Lortab has 250mg less acetaminophen then the Vicodin ES tablet. I hope this helps.
