Hi, Lindsey, how are you doing?

If your pharmacy gave you the wrong medication, you should really go back and let them know, so they can provide you with the correct prescription. They aren't allowed to just change it on a whim, that would require your doctor's approval.

And it would take 7.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to equal each 5mg of Oxycodone, so 15mgs to equal 10 of the Oxycodone.

The main issue is that you'd also be increasing the amount of Acetaminophen that you're taking and that can be toxic, if you take too much in a day.

Thus, you really need to either contact your doctor or the pharmacy to get the problem resolved.

I was wondering I have really bad restless legs (rls) and I have one 5mg of oxcycodone and one 500mg of hydrocodone neither one by itself will help ease the pain so I was wondering if it was ok to take one of each together?

I take oxycodone 10/325mg,#120 a month. I had it filled last week and noticed the pill looked different but just assumed it was from a different manufacturer. Well since i haven't been getting any relief I looked the pill up and sure enough, its hydrocodone 10/325mg. What should I do? If I call the pharmacy, will they be able to find there mistake so it doesn't look like I'm just making it up.

Yes they can always find mistakes like that. They scan every medication bottle that they use to fill prescriptions from so when they look it up they would find they scanned the norco bottle and filled from it and not the oxy bottle. I would bring that to their attention right away. It's rare but occasionally mistakes like that do happen and the pharmacies have many safeguards and measures in place to protect, find, and fix those rare issues but they on occasion can and do still happen. Human error will always be there. Take everything you have back to the pharmacy so they can physically see what they did and usually they will be happy to fix it.

My phone can't spell lol, I'd go back to pharmacy. My pain is bad in morning, I start off the day with Percocet, and use Norco to maintain pain level throughout day. If not then I'd take like 4 Norco to get up and able to tolerate the PAIN.

If you were prescribed Oxycodone and the pharmacist gave you Hydrocodone instead, he is in big trouble. If you have any tablets left, take them to the pharmacist (they scan prescriptions so they can be seen at any time.) As far as the strengths & similarities go between Oxy and Hydro, Oxycodone is more powerful. The 5/25 stands for 5 mg of Oxycodone and 325 mg of tylenol. Brand name is Percocet. I remember right it was supposed to be taken 1 tablet every six hours. I could be wrong...check with pharmacist. Hydrocodone is less potent than Oxycodone...that's why you can take 2 tabs every 4-6 hours. The brand name for this drug is Vicodin. If the pharmacy did make a mistake (by giving you Vicodin instead of Percocet) I would certainly take the bottle to the pharmacy and ask them to show you the prescription. If it's true they made an error, they should fill the proper prescription. Both Oxycodone & Hydrocodone are Schedule 2 narcotics and they are counted & monitored closely. When they do a "narcotics count" it will show.
