My sugar level has suddenly gone up to more than 400. After taking metformin 500mg 3 tablets a day, still it does not go down below 200. So I tried glycomet GP2 two tablets per day. I found slight improvement within a day - i.e. it has come down to 130. Shall I continue it? Will it have any side effect like kidney trouble or sudden dizziness?

Glycomet GP2 contains the active ingredients Glimepiride and Metformin, both of which are oral antidiabetic medications that are used to help lower and control blood sugar.

It can cause side effects, just as any other medication can, they may include: nausea, dizziness, flatulence and stomach pain.

Learn more Metformin details here and Glimepiride details here.

Do you have a doctor you see regularly? They should be able to advise you on the right course of action.

What is your diet like? Are you eating a lot of sugary foods, or foods that are high in fat?

sir
you may try "Pathanjali yoga" in the early morning along with the regular tablets and diet control (as advised by your doctor) . surely, after two month time, check your sugar level and reply me.
Remember, do your "yoga" daily and sincerely. (from my personnel experience)

Just keep on increasing the dosage or to change to new stronger medicines to control the blood sugar is not a proper solution for diabetes. Many doctors are a sort of trigger happy to prescribe stronger medicines which may be detrimental to the health of the patients in the long run. I am a diabetic for the past 25 years. Still in the 120-150 sugar level. Please practice Pranayama and yoga, take some proven ayurvedic preparations besides the doctors allopathic medicines. As you progress the quantum of allopathic medicine can be reduced to maintain the blood sugar level. Yes, doing regular exercises such as morning or evening walking is very helpful in burning the excess sugar circulating in the blood. Also see to it that you shall never feel excessively hungry. Excessive hunger has lead to increased sugar level in my case. Diabetes is a boon to maintain a disciplined life style. Always try to be happy. Heaven is not going to fall down on us if tension is not taken to our head. If possible try to inculcate some hobbies such as reading or gardening. Networking with cultured neighbors is an excellent past time to share our joy and sorrow.

I am 68 from middle Assam . Having diabetic condition for last 36 years . I try to kèep it low at about 130. Ramdev exccercise is wonderful. Runing is another measure. Monitoring is the answer to the
problem.take insulin or tablets depending on your carbs intake.. insulin is safe i take 3 times when feel necessary. Take food twice a day . evening
Meal not after 6 pm . I drive 300 km all alone. Yes, I take entire regime of vitamin suppliments suggest all my friends to take. Check for your Magnesiam and potas status. too. Most important go for liver function test and kidney . Check your glycochelated hymohlobin status. These are all simple tests but important. Drink water plantifully. Live naturally as a 30 year man live. I mean it.

I had suspicion but found to be true that a bad liver condion may lead to Diabetes. Alcohol is worst. Roti is better than rice. Keep your libido in top form. Check blood sugar before going to bed. When hypoglysemic do not take lot of sugar. It overshoots the ideal level of blood sugar.

I am taking ISTAMET 50/500 mg each morning before breakfast and at night I take Glycomet GP 2 before dinner. Are there any side effects (interactions) if I take both medications? Currently, my blood sugar level before fasting has been 150 mg/l and 171 mg/l after food.
