I have just been prescribed Meloxicam. Does this contain gluten and lactose? I cannot have either. Just a note, most people who cannot tolerate gluten can have issues with lactose. I found this out the hard way. My Meloxicam is made by Unichem Pharmacies. Thank you for your time

Hello, Wenndellyn! How are you?

I'm sorry, but I need more information to be able to check the ingredients for you. Can you please post back with the markings on the tablets? Thank you!

The FDA classifies Meloxicam as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation.

It's manufactured by Unichem Pharmaceuticals, they list it as being a 15mg tablet.

And yes, one of the inactive ingredients is Lactose Monohydrate.

However, it doesn't contain a lot, so it doesn't tend to cause problems for most.

Are there any other questions or concerns?

Is there ANY form of lactose free, gluten-free aspirin... Any dosage? Ridiculous that no one makes such a product with all the food allergies out there.
