A professor from the North has prescribed Duromine, Glucophage 1000mg 2x per day and Toplep to lose weight. What do you guys think about that? I am almost 70 yrs of age and have gained like 7kg after a hip replacement. I need to lose weight again seriously because I have problems with my back/discs that are disintegrating and the extra weight can't do it any good. Please let me know before I buy the stuff. ## Did this work for you?

I have had irregular period since the very beginning. Diagnosed with pcos couple of years back. I am now 29 and dying to conceive. Problem is my partner is not very cooperative as he keeps withdrawing. Im currently on glucophage & primolut-n. Is there any meds I can take to increase my chances of conceiving with pretty less semen? :( ## To be honest, if you're partner doesn't want to have a child, at this time, forcing one on them is a very bad and irresponsible idea. If having a child right now is important to you, then you should seek a partner who is also ready for it. Has he said why he isn't ready? ## ????I was in severe depression before I contacted Dr Vipul Sharma. A sense of inferiority had seeped into my life due to prolonged infertility and amenorrhea. I am using galvus met 50 850 from last one week, earlier i used to use glucophage 750 xr, doctors changed the medicines due to sugar level being high,h1b 8.4, after using this tablet i am feeling very drowsy, is this the side affect of this medicine? ## Hello, Kamesh! How are you? Has there been any change? Dizziness and drowsiness can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the U.S. FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, flatulence and diarrhea. However, it could also be a sign that your sugars are now going too low. Have you been checking them regularly?

I have been given forminal500 instead of glucophage, i do have diarrhoea ,and my mouth and tongue are dry and sore,i do request for advice as this is an irritating situation ## They are actually just different brand names for the same medication, they both contain Metformin. Those side effects can be normal, as reported by the FDA, you may also experience abdominal pain, flatulence and low blood sugar. What have your recent sugar levels been? Are you on any other medications? How long have you been taking it? Most side effects tend to go away, with time, once your body gets used to a medication.

I found this in my teenage sons drawer. What is it? I can't locate it on the computer. On one side it is GP 128 and the other side is smooth. Long white oval pill. ## Glucophage's generic (Metformin) Anti-Diabetic pill ## That reads a little strange, so I'd like to make things a little more clear to avoid confusion. Glucophage would actually be the brand name, not the manufactured, like that post might make one think, though the identification is correct. And to be more specific, it is a 1,000mg Metformin tablet, which is used to help lower and control blood sugar levels. You can learn more Metformin details here. Are there any questions or comments?

I am diabetic and have high blood pressure. For diabetes I am on Glucophage XR 500mg (3 tabs a day) and for high blood pressure I have been taking Approval 300mg. Recently my doctor reduced my Glucophage to 2 tabs a day, the Approval to 150mg and added Concur 2.5mg. I want to know why Concur as this is a beta drug and read that it will camoflouge my sugar levels. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks. ## Have you asked your doctor why he wants you to take this one? Concor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, it is a beta blocker and, as such, it can mask some of the signs of low blood sugar, such as accelerated heart rate, since it can slow the heart rate. This doesn't mean that diabetics can't take it, but you should be aware of this, so you know to check your sugar level regul...

What is the down-side of taking Glucophage (minimum dosage) over a long period please? ## Glucophage contains the active ingredient Metformin, which is an oral antidiabetic medication. There aren't a lot of reports, so far, associated with the long-term use of it, other than that it can cause problems with the absorption of Vitamin B12. However, there are always risks associated with the long-term use of any medication. Have you discussed it with your doctor? What you have to take under consideration is the fact that letting your diabetes get out of control carries much greater risks than those associated with using the medication. ## Many thanks for this reply. I'm on the minimum dosage of Glucophage and, quite honestly, considering my valiant dieting efforts, there isn't m...
