Can anyone tell me more about this medication that's used for treating diabetic patients? ## Getryl contains the active ingredient Glimepiride, which is used along with diet and exercise, and sometimes with other medications, to treat type 2 diabetes. According to MedlinePlus, "Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin and by helping the body use insulin efficiently. round in shape, pink in color,and the letters on one side are IG. And on the other side the numbers 207. This is a pill or maybe it could be a tablet i'm not sure. ## Is it possible that the markings are IG 203? I located a pill with IG on one side and it's scored in the middle. I want to know information about each drug schedule ## I found a round yellow tablet with the imprints 44 403 on it and I looked it up and it said it was a 'schedule class N controlled substance'. I don't know about any scheduled or class with that. Would you please inform me on what it is? ## It says Glimepiride is a Schedule N drug. What does it mean? I am suffering with sensitive tongue for a month now and unable to take chilly at all. I take glimisave m3 and zyrol m1 morning and evening respectively. I also take Prednisone 5mg morning and evening. Additionally I take multivitamin and calcium. Wondering what is causing sensitive tongue! I am getting very worried about my diet.

I usually have my prescriptions filled at Walgreens but recently switched to express scripts. I have noticed that the numbers on my pills have changed from:Oval BLUE TABLET SIDE 1: AHI 4 to OVAL BLUE Tablet Marking: RDY/3 22. Does this mean the express script Glimepiride isn’t as good/or will have a different effect on me? ## No, it just means it has been manufactured by a different pharmaceutical company. I was using Glimaday-1 everday in the morning before food for the last 7 years. My blood glucose levels always are in control. Suddenly doctor adivsed me to stop the above medicine. Instead he advised me to take zoryl-1 in the morning and 1/2(Half) tablet in the night before food for initial period of 30days.. How far it is useful?

I take the metformin in the morning with my breakfast and the glimepiride at night as directed by my doctor. My concern is that lately I have been getting up a lot during the night to urinate and my lack of sleep is really beginning to bother me. I am 77 and type 2 for 15 yrs. I now take 1000 mg Metformin in AM and again in PM. Now in addition my Dr wants me to take 1mg Glimepiride in AM. My A1c was 7.8 and glucose 185. What can I expect from the combination? Headache, gas, etc?? ## You may experience some nausea, dizziness, headache, gas and diarrhea for a week, or so, as listed by the FDA. However, they tend to be transient side effects and typically go away, once your body gets used to the new medication. You should also make sure to check your sugar level regularly, as it could cause it to drop too low. For diabetic treatment my dr asked me to take Glimepiride 2mg + Metformin 500mg (1-1), Voglibose 0.3 mg (1-1) & Pioglitazone 30mg + Metformin 500 mg (1-1).
