Generic Lyrica

I have been taking 50 mg of Lyrica 3 xs a day for about 8 years. I understand there is finally a generic Pregabalin available. Has anyone taken the generic? I was getting my Lyrica for free through Pfizer but now that there is a generic Pfizer will no longer give me Lyrica and I will have to pay for it.

That is normal, once the generic is available, a manufacturer will usually end their assistance program for any given medication. I was on Atacand for several years, and then had to switch, once a generic became available, and the program ended, because at that time, I was uninsured, and still couldn't afford the generic price, which was over $100 a month.

The generic for Lyrica, which as you mentioned is Pregabalin, is as effective as the name brand, and has helped many people.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight changes.

You may also want to ask your pharmacy about any possible coupons, or assistance programs they offer. Where I live in the state of Washington, there is a state program that helps uninsured people, it made my prescriptions a lot cheaper every month.

I would like to know how to get Gabapentin for free as I did with my Lyrica. Gabapentin will cost me close to $200 for 3 months supply. Can’t afford that.

You'd probably need to check which manufacturer you are being dispensed at the pharmacy and then see if you can qualify for their patient assistance program. Another option could be to check something like GoodRx or this site's rx discount card to see if either can offer a substantial savings on your prescription.

I have Pregabalin 25 mg I can not take it. Has terrible side effects on me. Works to lessen the PHN but not worth going through how it causes me to feel.

It's a small world. You can fill a prescription for pregabalin 300mg from India. Only 31 dollars for 150x300mg. Hope that helps.
