Generic Buprenorphine 54 411 Vs M 924

Updated

I've been going to a clinic for almost a year now and each time I get prescribed 8mg Subutex. When I would fill my prescription I would receive 54 411 white tablets. Today when I picked it up I got M 924 white tablets. The only difference I've found is the manufacturer. The manufacturer for the 54 411 is ROXANE and for the M 924 is MYLAN. Are they pretty much the same pill just different imprint/manufacturer?

Yes, these tablets are just manufactured by different companies, which so very common with generics.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction. It has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Do you know if it has the excact same stuff in the M 925 has the 54 411!! I don't like the M 925s at all. Doesn't seem to do the same has the 54 411

The inactive ingredients aren't required to be the same, so you could be reacting to one of them.

Are you allergic to anything that you know of? Having unusual side effects, or does it just seem not to work?

Makes me really weak and tired and I have to do more and don't really do it for me at all. The Roxana 54-411 are the ones I get every month for almost 2 years now and everything in my life has been great. Haven't touched a opiate since. But these m 924s suck

I was on the actual suboxone for years. The orange tablets. I had surgery last year and the doctor changed my prescription to the Roxane brand. I did not like them as well as the suboxone but then one month the pharmacy gave me the same but instead of roxane the company was Akron. I, too, liked the roxane better. They finally switched me back to suboxone and life was good. Like you, I have never gone back to drugs. Last week my mother fell, broke her hip, surgery and now rehab. I ran out of my suboxone and finally found a doctor to prescribe for me. I specifically told him I needed suboxone, but when I went to fill I turns out it is the same damn white pills, this time the company is not even on the bottle. These don't work as well. It's Saturday so I now have to wait until Monday. I am so over this. When I get home I need to get off this. I am so over it.

The akorn ones are terrible. They dont look like the roxane and mylans. It took me a week to notice they gave me M 924s so I dont think they are that much different than the Roxane 54 411s

Get off what ? Subs ? Not smart unles u wanna relapse and go back to drugs. Wow they changed it who cares, switch next month.. They all work fine its just u use to one then won't like any other until 2 weeks later. White ones are best, bub no naloxone to give migrains. Tell the doc which u like n force him to write what u want. The small high tech brand ones suck rest r OK.

Yes there the same, but the newer one mylan 924 i believe has more toxic fillers in it.Its a billion dollar industry all about the money and how to manufacture it cheaper by the new company competitors coming out..

The 924s have more buprenorpin in them, maybe a half mg or so

Agree with Mike. The only generic subutex that sucks is the small one that is made by HiTech/Akorn/Midlothian. I saw no difference between the M924s or 54 411s or Teva B 799 or even back in the day when name brand (B 8)was all you could get.

Is that 100% for sure that the m924 has more buprenorphin than the 54 411. Ive been taking the 54 411 for couple or few years and have 2 of the m924 cause I ran short this month but am hoping they will do the job for the next 2 days until I go back to doctor

John Boy, I agree with you.

I also feel that there is something toxic about the Mylan generic subutex, to a point that almost seems to cancel out many of the benefits derived from taking this pill. I mean, okay, I'm no longer gobbling down Norco, but now I have trouble even getting up in the morning. True, I'm not ingesting potentially harmful amounts of aceteminophine any longer, but my stomach now feels worse for the wear from taking these Mylan.

I NEVER intend to resume my use of those opiate *agonist* pain meds and, frankly, I do not miss them one bit.

I DO wish the subutex that was first marketed -- the name brand, that is - was still available or, at the very least, a close approximation were released to the public. But, alas, just as you, John Boy, so astutely pointed out, it's all about the money. These pharm. companies do not care what type of toxic ingredients they use to pump up their products. They care about inflating only one thing: the cost.

Does anyone know if the manufacturer Roxane labs discontinued buprenorphine 54 411?!? My pharmacy said they only carry the Mylan's brand now, which in comparison are horrible!! If they are discontinued, does anyone know why? Or has had personal experience to other manufacturers of buprenorphine that you thought were better?

I just got switched to the Mylan Brand as well which one did you decide that you liked better?? I do like the Mylan is cheaper and pill seems to be harder than the Roxanne Brand which is nice if you are breaking pieces off

I still get the 54 411 to this day

Meghann- What were some of the things you didnt like about the M-924 . I feel like they arent working like the Roxanne Brand but everyone said its in my head?? Someone please let me know If there is really much of a difference. Kmart charges 144 for my Mylans script and Walmart charges 274 for my script with the Roxannes. Crazy difference huh!

Whatever man, those are the best ones. Any other brand tastes like cat piss. But akorn went bankrupt so now I'm stuck taking all the other crap. Makes me want to quit these altogether.

The new Rhodes are the best generic we have had since original brand name. The ingredients are the same except for one. They are white to off white round flat-face beveled edges imprinted Rp b8....they are a smooth type without that strong bup, taste. To me they feel stronger to .I'm allowed to have 3 a day but I get by on two with no problem

I have found that nearly ALL Mylan brand medications are completely INFERIOR AND NOT NEAR other brands potency. I REFUSE to use anything MYLAN makes. Every Mylan med I have tried are weaker in strength. And there are thousands who agree with me

54 411 are the best anything else does not compare. M 924 are garbage, no comparison to the 54s.

After 10 years on all different meds, unfortunately I have found that the MYLAN brand is one of the worst makers of all. I simply REFUSE any and all MYLAN medications. They are so INFERIOR.

I WANT MY 5411 11....they are the only ones that work, can be broken so I can take halves. Tiny pills do not work at all for me, and everyone has said most of the other generics can't compare to Roxanne which is now Hikma

Re: Comments Submitted (# 204) Expand Referenced Message

I looked into how much buprenorphine is in each generic and Mylan actually has the lowest amount of bup in all the generics, all the others have 8.64mg of bup equalvent and 8mgs,. Only 2 others have only 8mg..period. and that's sun, and actavis the orange half moon one... the new Rhodes is the best out there for us..they are so well made and just perfect looking medication.

Hi alias, is that for just your state about no regular dr. Can actually write out a script for opiates?? Only pain management can..because jest a few months ago I decided to w/d off subutex because of the length of the use from 2005. So I decided I will go to a pain management dr. To help...I asked him if he will put me on percocets 10s x 4 day along with Baclofen a muscle relaxer. I had absolutely no problem what so ever, strangely that I'm the one that decided what I wanted to use . So I did it for 10 days with some, but not much luck. I got pretty sick and lost almost 14 lbs in 10 days..I'm very small and thin anyway so that's a huge weight loss for me. My husband had to just about carry me into the drs office. The doc looked like me and then my husband and said I recommend she go back on subutex to regain her life and health. So that's what I did...now I'm in Florida that's why I asked this question, because it had no problem with getting what I wanted no my son with disabilities I took him there because of pain the pain management put him on lortab 10 x 3 day along the muscle relaxers. So. Just curious thx
