Generic 10mg Oxycodone Ir Kvk Brand. Any Info About Known Quality Of This Med Compared To Other Generics? (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I have seen so many different opinions and information about companies offering generic oxycodone and the differences in strength, and quality over other generic brands. I have also heard that the FDA allows from 12% to 20% variances in the active ingredient (oxycodone) in their pills. Which if i am understanding this correctly, they can be + or - 12 to 20% of the actual amount of oxycodone per tablet? Can someone with the expertise or knowledge (like a pharmacist or a doctor) explain this to us who have heard this and don't understand? I personally suffer with chronic pain from a construction accident 20 yrs ago in which my back was broken in 7 places along with a lot of muscle and nerve damage which has left me on disability and in chronic pain after 4 surgeries and 7 levels of my spine fused. I currently take 150mg's of oxycodone IR daily, and I have noticed the difference between different manufactures of the same medicine at the same size tablet. My doctor said he could specify a certain 'generic' brand on my prescription, but that my insurance company will only pay for a generic equivalent to a 'specified brand name' IE: Roxicodone is the brand name, but I can only receive the generic equivalent to that, like KVK, or qualitest, mallankrodnt (sp?) etc. Does anyone know which 'generic' brand of oxycodone (10mg IR) is known to be of the highest quality and potency? WalgReens told me that 'all' their stores carry what generic pills are sent to them by corporate. I asked which generic 10 mg ir oxy they carry, and she (the pharm.) told me they carry 'activist' brand oxys. I have had alot of problems with the quality of ativist, so i wanted to avoid those, but after looking at several pharmacys for my meds, i ended up at walgreens anyways. I filled my script and they were 'KVK Tech' brand, the ones i prefer anyways, point being: dont believe everything you hear on the phone. I'm sure they get lots of calls about oxys, and just blow you off anyways. Thanks for your comment, i look forward to ANYONES comments on oxycodone.

I think there's a color coding standard in the pharmacy industry. It seems with the oxycodone that it's 10mg pink, 20mg gray, 30mg a light blue. It doesn't seem to matter which company is producing them, the color seems standard.
You're so right. There is a difference between addiction and pain medication dependency. The abusers have the whole range of drama with their pills, just like you mentioned. The people who are abusing eventually move on to bigger and better, but in the meantime they cause lots of problems for those of us who are chronic and depend on our medication to be able to function as a semi-normal person.
The only reason I can think of that a legit pain patient would continue to run out of medication is that they are on the wrong medication.

Yes, I agree that Mallinkrodt is the best of the generics. At least in my experience. If anyone else knows of any other effective generics for oxycodone or hydrocodone, please be good enough to let us know.

I hate the KVK brand. Don't exactly know what my prior brand was. But all I was told is they quit making it. I knew something was wrong within the 1st half hour/hour I took the KVK brand. I got zero pain relief and I felt awful. I am filing a complaint with the FDA..and anyone else with this same problem should also file a complaint. A pharmacist told me today that they only make certian meds and try to skirt certain regulations. KVK Tech is a terrible company all around. The more research I do the more dirt I find. I have had severe back problems for years. I have been doing great on my last brands 20mg oxy's. I can take 4 a day but its so effective all I usually only take 2 a day.. 3 occasionally. Rarely have I ever had to take all 4. Like I said..within half and hour I knew something was terribly wrong. IDK if it was withdrawal..but I felt awful. I actually considered going to the hospital. It was that bad. Thank god I have extras of my old brand. I'm going to a different pharmacy next month. File your complaints with the FDA. The more the get the better. Lets try to take this terrible company out of business!!!!

The KVK is terrible....no pain relief at ALL. Definitely finding a different brand next month.....absolutely TERRIBLE!!

THANK GOD A LONG ENOUGH FORUM ABOUT THE SITUATION HERE AND I WILL TELL YOU. KVK AMNEAL AND RHODES SUCK OK!!! THE SITUATION IS A 10 OR A 20 IS THE SAME THING IT'S BAD EITHER WAY. I'M PLEADING WITH MY DOCTOR TO MOVE ME FROM 3 10MG KVK CAUSE I TRIED THE OTHER TWO AND THEY WERE WORSE. AND GUESS WHAT 20MG MIGHT BE MORE BUT AGAIN KVK AMNEAL RHODES. 15 OR 30MG. Smith you are right about the mom and pop pharmacies I used what was called a rexall pharmacy when my doc prescribed me a med I had been using Wally World they didn't have it neither did Walgreens he told me to go to Moore rexall sure enough they had the still do compounding and since then have used them for years. I found their Meds to work better for me!!!

Had the same problem. I've been taking a pill imprinted with A 214 then the pharmacy changed it to K 8. They do nothing for me. I believe the A 214 is actavis and k 8 is kvk, totally trash. Has anyone else ran into this problem? What are the best generic oxycodone 15mg

Today, I just filled a prescription for KVK Tech (K 56) 10mg Oxycodone at Berkley Medical Pharmacy in Martinsburg, Wv. (304)-350-3261.

Unfortunately, I've already taken the maximum dosage allowed (legally... & morally)

THEY DO NOTHING --- I MEAN (ZERO RELIEF, NADA, ZILCH)... I DON'T ABUSE MY PILLS & I FILL THEM AT THE HOSPITAL'S PHARMACY.

Is this company famous for dispensing counterfeit or low-quality opioids? Has anyone else had results like mine?

Is there a place I could have them evaluated, to check their contents?

Anyone ever sue them or attempt to prosecute them?

OBVIOUSLY..after reading some of your posts, I hope I can get some resolution!!!

I would encourage everyone who has problems with kvk to file a complaint with the fda. I did, and got a few responses from the fda, mostly saying that they investigate based on the number of complaints. I also complained to kvk, and two different company reps contacted me for details. About a month later they sent me a letter saying that they have filed an issue with the fda. Not exactly sure what that means, but it seems to be admitting that there might be something worth investigating.

I have tried every pain med there is for my chronic pain management. So far im on Oxy 10/325 made by Watson. I find this generic to have the highest and purest levels of meds out there among all other generics. I hope this helps. Walgreens has them

I know what you are experiencing. Remind him very clearly that if you take an extra one this day and for the next 10 days then you will be x amount of days short or without and it's not worth the withdrawls, its much more comfortable to take the lesser of the tablets then to run out or even take 1 less a day to catch up. Also what this person is doing is growing an addiction and it will be noticed by the provider sooner then later and come time to take a drug test he will be caught up in a mess that will further debilitate him and put more stress on you cause he will have NOTHING
YOU can NOT have a relationship with someone on Opioids, opioids changes how their mind thinks and processes information hence why it works to relieve pain and not actually fix anything, its a temporary DIVERSION and he will be less inclined to care or be aware of his actions and repercussions. I know you want to be there cause no one else will but I'd leave cause if someone is not adding to your life they are taking from it and have to go, you will be doing this forever and it will only get worse. He might just have to hit rock bottom to see and I will almost bet he will get to that point if he cant control his intake now and is aware of the implications.You are contributing to the insanity but allowing it. If guiding him to others who hit bottom does nothing he will have to learn the hard way and that is not in your control- breathe and let go, trust me!

Do you get an oxycodone brand generic called shortec in the states? Over here oxys are non existent apart from the ones who have to take it for pain. So im lucky or unlucky ha ha to be able to take 20mgs caps fast release by shortec and their pretty good, 4 or 5.

That's incorrect. I also take Oxycodone 10mg Immediate Release by KVK TECH. This is my first time taking them from this manufacturer. It doesn't seem to work as well as the one I was taking at the hospital. I don't know the brand of that one.

I absolutely agree with you. KVK TECH is able to sell Oxycodone to the pharmacy's for pennies on the dollar...one must ask themselves why that is? To still be cost-effective they obviously are putting less of the "active ingredient" (oxycodone) in their pills. This is not right. I am experiencing withdrawals & severe uncontrolled pain since getting the KVK TECH brand of oxycodone. I am complaining to FDA as well. Hope others will too as this company needs to be stopped. They are selling an inferior product of medication and people are suffering needlessly due to this. There is no way this medication has the required amount of active ingredient in it per FDA guidelines OR they are only using the absolute "bare minimum" amounts as per FDA. My insurance needs to be aware also as they are paying for a product that does not work. I am filling complaints with the FDA immediately, along with the pharmacy, and my insurer. They need to be shut down. I have seen HUNDREDS of complaints from people here on the internet all saying KVK TECH oxycodone does not work...why is nothing being done about this thus far?
