Folitrax 10 Mg Side Effects

I am 43 year old mother of two. i am suffering from arthritis and have been taking Folitrax 10 mg from the past 4 years 1 tablet per week. I have hot flashes at night and i feel like i am having memory loss and despite my repeated hard work i am not able to lose weight instead i am gaining it. are these possible side effects of the medication ? kindly help me soon.

It's really difficult to say for sure what might be causing these symptoms, though they aren't usually caused by the Folitrax.

At your age, they could very well be due to hormonal fluctuations from having anovulatory cycles. Perimenopause can start as young as 35, but is most common in the early to mid-40's and the issues you're experiencing are typical signs of a lack of ovulation causing you to have a low level of progesterone, which is leaving you with unopposed estrogen.

Have you had any other symptoms, such as irregular menstrual cycles? PMS? Increased irritability and moodiness? Heavier menstrual cycles with clots?

Though I am prescribed Folitrax5 mg.by a renowned Dr.I am too scared to take it after reading the side effects of the medicine. I am 60 & suffering from Arthralgia. The dose is once a week only. Please reassure me.
