Antibiotics and Fluconazole

Hi, I took an antibiotic in May, then Amoxicillin in June, plus Metrol. I recently developed Oral Trush and now I'm in my 5th day with Fluconazole, (14 capsules). But today my doctor gave me Sulfamethoxazole/TMP DS. I'm not sure if that's ok? ## Sulfamethoxazole with TMP (Trimethoprim) is another antibiotic, so it will not help with thrush, it can actually cause it, as a side effect. Fluconazole side effects

I would like to know any and all side effects to this particular medication. I have been experiencing stomach ache, headache, low backache, palpitations, taste, nausea. Are these normal side effects? and if not, should I stop taking them. Of course, you can't reach a doctor over the weekend. I have taken 9 doses in 10 days. I forgot to take my normal dose on Friday night and felt great the next day but took one last night when I realized that I had missed a dose, and woke up in the middle of the night feeling sick again. This has been going on for the last 3 or 4 doses. The reaction usually occurs 4-6 hours after taking the pill. ## You poor thing, I only had to take 2 doses of it. I can't imagine taking it for that long. The pharmacist had told me it could make you feel sick an...

Was diagnosed with a yeast infection last week. I took a 150mg dose of Diflucan on Thurs. night. It’s been 4 days and the symptoms have improved a little but I still have slight itching and tenderness. Is that a good sign? From what I hear and read, symptoms (itching) are suppose to clear up in 3 days. I also have discharge today. Can it take a week to fully clear on one pill? Should I wait it out another day or two or should I take another dose of Diflucan or the terconazole cream I was prescribed? ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Fluconazole for yeast infection

I was prescribed fluconazole for a yeast infection after taking antibiotics. I took the first dose two days ago 150mg. The prescription says to wait 3 days to take the second dose but I am still experiencing the symptoms and want to take it early. ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? For the best results, it is best to follow the prescribing instructions. The medication will not clear it up and alleviate all the symptoms immediately, it will take several days to work. I developed a severe fungal infection internally in my neck and vagina after taking natural wild organic mushroom capsules. I already had bacterial cellulitis in neck so this is probably why it developed there. I was choking on my own neck tissues n had a hacking cough. Luckily I had one at home anyway from before that I hadnt needed to use. I took it n next morning I was spitting up yellow mucus that was very smooth like cottage cheese weird I know but I guess thats the fungus coming out. Non healing yeast

I've had yeast infections for years. Somewhat chronic since being diagnosed diabetic. I lost a lot of weight, and my doctor says I am no longer considered diabetic. With that said, I have yeast infections so often, I don't usually know I have them. I find out I have them when I go for checkups. I said all of that to say this. I finally have an ARNP that takes me seriously when I say I have Y.I. almost constantly. She prescribed fluconazole, 5 days, wait 3 days, then another course of 5 days fluconazole. My yeast is not only worse, my husband and I had Intercourse and I've been in pain ever since. What the heck?? Any ideas? Yeast Infection from Antibiotics

I have taken one 150mg Fluconazole tablet to treat a yeast infection as a result of taking antibiotics. On the last night of taking my antibiotic I was in so much discomfort that I decided to take a Fluconazole to treat the thrush on the same night. I took my last antibiotic around (7pm and the Fluconazole much later at night before going to bed.) The symptoms have improved slightly within the last three days but I am still experiencing a very watery large amount of white discharge and red/soreness in that area. The Fluconazole I was prescribed had the instructions written by the pharmicist saying "Take one immediately and one in a week if required." It's been 3 days since I have taken it and was wondering whether it would be too early to try and take another as I am finding...

Has there been any change? The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain.

Diflucan and Metronidazole

I was diagnosed with BV and a yeast infection over a week ago. I was prescribed the two meds above. I took diflucan immediately, and the metronidazole for five days before the side effects took over my body (mouth sores, stomach pains and cramps, nausea). After day five, I couldn't take it anymore and took the second diflucan because along with the side effects, I just experienced a frequency in urination, burning and itching, but not in the way of a typical UTI. I went back to urgent care and the doc said it didn't look like BV, but yeast, and prescribed topicals that aren't making the itching or pain any better. I am in so much pain and don't know what to do. ## Yeast infections are not usually painful. They are caused by a fungus and while they may cause itching, and ...
