Florida Adderall Doctor

i in need of a cen fl dr thats not afaid to prescribe me what i was on for years and worked without any side aff now they all want to put me on this and that that all seem to have bad side aff instead n . if poss i need to find one in n. cen.fl. my scrips were xanax and adderall

Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based solely on their discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment. Personally, I think if you suffer from anxiety/depression and need a Benzodiazepine class medication (like Xanax), usually your best bet is to see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular medical doctor. Reason being is that they are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and can also help you treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression, as opposed to covering up the feelings and emotions with medication; unless you decide that you're ok with only treating the symptoms for as long as they persist...

To find a psychiatrist or a doctor (whichever you decide) I'd check out healthgrades.com.

I know from bitter experience that health care professionals are very reluctant to prescribe a benzodiazepine for more than a few weeks, even when it's the only thing that works. They can also be quite rigid in limiting the dose, possibly because of audit guidelines from the DEA. For patients who need a benzo to survive, it's institutional cruelty. But who can blame the doctors?

They are especially reluctant to prescribe Xanax, which is easily abused, because it has a euphoric effect and lasts only a few hours. Often the patient burns through their script, then turns up at the emergency room begging for more meds. After a few of these incidents, the patient is labeled "non-compliant" or an "addictive personality" . In some cases, though, the problem is not the patient, but the doctor, who hasn't prescribed enough medicine to reach a therapeutic result.

You may have to educate your case manager on this topic. Ask them to study the recommendations for benzos in The Prescribers Guide (Stahl's Essential Psychopharmacology) by Stephen M. Stahl. Fourth Edition (2011) Perhaps you can persuade your doctor to prescribe a different benzo, such as Klonopin (clonazepam), which is less euphoric and has a much longer half life. That's what has worked for us. Sometimes the medical professionals are just too careful, and too quick to label someone an "addict"
