If you require such a medication for long-term ongoing use, you'll need to see a specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year.

Do you currently have PCP that could refer you to someone? That would likely be the easiest way to find the help you need.

You know Verwon, that is the type of advice that could make a sick person make a rash decision. Not all areas have Specialists available, and many have long waits. Most Psychiatrists do not participate in Insurance either? Do you know for a fact that Alabama has these regulations in place. I'd say most States don't? Where is a list of the States that are under these newer rules? You must have a link as you have links to everything!

If you find anyone please let me know...Hendrix in Athens used to give me 4 barrs a day...I had been on 3 a day for the previous 5 yrs along with pain meds but was comeing off of them at the time so he gave me 4....(the last line of info was not needed, only to keep the next 9 posters from not telling me how xanax is addicting and 4 is way to many)good luck
