FLOMAX 0.4mg

side effects ## I HAVE TAKEN FLOMAX 0.4MG FOR SEVERAL YEARS FOR URINARY FLOW. I HAVE PAID $9.00 FOR 30 DAY SUPPLY EACH TIME. YESTERDAY, THE COST WAS $22.00 AT WALMARTS PHARMACY WHERE I PURCHASE MY RX'S. HAS THE COST GONE UP THAT MUCH? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANKS. ## Flomax contains the active ingredient Tamsulosin, and MedlinePlus lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, weakness, back pain, sleepiness, blurred vision, and others. Raymond, the price can vary regularly, depending on the going rate at the time they need to restock their supply. It sounds like the price was raised, but there is no harm in checking with other pharmacies to see if they have it available cheaper. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What is this pill designed to do and how does it...

Getting off Flomax

I have been on Flomax for over ten years. I also have had the side effects: stuffy nose all year long, thickness in the throat, some problems with retrograde ejaculation, and lightheadedness.. I have read about the side effects and decided that I would try and get off Flomax and just use saw palmetto, which I have also been using off and on over the years. I have been off the drug now for about three weeks and am finally I hope getting to the end of the drug withdrawal symptoms: bladder pain I assume from spasms, other intestinal and abdominal pain, some nervousness, problems urinating (getting going, stopping and starting, weak stream). The good part though is that overall I feel a lot better. I continue to take saw palmetto along with zinc. I am hoping I never have to go back on that ...

Flomax side effects

How effective is flomax in controlling an anxious urge to urinate? ## How critical is it to wait half an hour after the same meal before taking FloMax? ## Flomax contains the active ingredient Tamsulosin. It does contain a sulfa compound, which means it should not be used by those who are sensitive or with an allergy to sulfa medications.. Other side effects may include: nausea, sexual issues, headache and nasal congestion. The point is to maintain a constant flow of the medication in your body, changing the time you take the medication could disrupt the success of your treatment. You can read more about this medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I am taking Flomax for a 6 mm kidney stone that is stuck in my ureter. I have takin it for 4 days with no result. Ca...

Side Effects of Flomax

20 months ago, June 13, 2011, my husband went blind after taking Flomax for 30 days. He is just now getting some of his libido back. He still has frequent urination issues. His CRP was very high on June 13th but it has been close to normal for several months. The specialists says that his optic nerve is dead and he will never see again. ## After just 30 days of use? Have they definitively attributed it to the Flomax? Anyone curious can read more Flomax details here. It's not that I don't believe you, I'd just like more precise details if you have them. There have been a lot of posts recently about vision problems arising from taking this medication and I'd like to know more to better advise future users. ## FYI.....this is odd. My husband had complications with cataract ...

Seeking advice. I suffer from stomach pain after taking Flomax.

Occasionally I forget to take FloMax with food. Usually a severe stomach ache results. Do others have the same problem? ## Yes, that can be a side effect, when you take this medication on an empty stomach, according to FDA reports. You may also experience dizziness, headache, and flatulence. Overall, it would be best to make sure that you take it with food. Even a small snack may help. Are you on any other medications?

Flomax for kidney stone

Some say my Kidney Stone is too big to pass and some say I can. My Kidney Stone is 1.1cm and they put me on Flomax. This is my first one and I heard it's very painful. Can I pass this and will it help to drink lemon juice ?? ## Hi Sherry - sorry to hear about your kidney stone, that does not sound like fun at all :( I can't say whether you will be able to pass it and I'd have to defer to what your primary doctor thinks since they know your medical history. With that said, I think you must have been prescribed Flomax to help with your urination. Lemon juice is anecdotally reported to help prevent kidney stones from forming and enlarging because of the citrate in it - but I don't know if it will help to actually shrink your existing kidney stone. If you are being told it...

himaplasia interactions with flomax

Can I use flomax with himaplasia? Himaplasia gives better results than flomax.. Urine flow is much stronger, no night visits to the bathroom, no dribbling or hesitation, bladder fully emptied, no burning sensation when urinating.... I don't want to stop taking it with a chronic need. I only started two days ago with himapasia and it has been wonderful and smooth feeling.

Flomax, Oxybutinin, Finasteride

I have been prescribed Flomax, Oxybutinin and Finasteride once a day for an enlarged prostate. Can I take all at the same time and when is the best time of the day to take them? ## There is no particular best time of day to take them, but the FDA does warn that the Oxybutynin may cause dizziness and drowsiness as side effects, so some people prefer to take it at night, to avoid experiencing such issues during the day. It is usually okay to take them all together, unless your doctor or pharmacist instructs otherwise. As to the Flomax, it should be taken approximately half an hour after the same meal each day to ensure steady absorption. Is there anything else I can help with?

Flomax,Tamsulosin, and my 22 yrs of history of bph.

OK guys, gals, ladies, and, gentlemen. I have been taking Flomax, starting in 1996, or since it's release, and at that time, depended on samples from my primary care doctor, because, at that time flomax was 100$ for 30 capsules. Then, when my insurance started paying, the generic Tamsulosin was released, and to date I have remained on this medication for bph, and prior to 1996 Hytrin was prescribed, which also worked for me. For 22 years I have had to take something for bph and I'm now 60 yrs old. OK, I said all that to say on this. For 20 yrs I've taken FLOMAX 0.4 MG Capsules, and never had any side effects, but on 1 or 2 occasions, I ran out and was off for maybe a week before I could not urinate, and had immense pain trying, and desperately was ready to rob a pharmacy to ...

Dosage of generic Flomax

I cannot remember if I took my dosage of generic Flomax. If I did and took another dose (the lower dosage) what if any problem could I into? Need to know quickly as I am scheduled for surgery and cannot take my meds again for another 12 hours. What a deal right?

alpha blocker withdrawal symptoms

Would you get heart palpitations and or pvc if you start skipping taking your alpha blockers like flomax for instance?my husband uses it for his enlarged prostate ## Hello, Terry! How is your husband doing? Those can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA and, if he's skipping doses, it would be normal for them to keep recurring from when he does take a dose. He may also experience nausea, dizziness, hypotension and vertigo. What dosage does he take? And how many doses in a row does he usually skip? Has his doctor been informed?

Tamsulosin and stuffy nose

I was on Rapaflo for enlarged prostrate for one month then Dr switched me to 0.4MG Tamsulosin twice a day. I had retained urine in my bladder and had retrograde ejaculation with Rapaflo. Absolutely love the Tamsulosin except for the stuffy nose. Does that side effect ever go away? ## I have been on it 3 years and still suffer with stuffy nose ## I've been on tamsulosin probably 6 years, and never knew this is why I have a constant stuffy nose, always thought it was allergies. I've been using Mucinex nasal spray twice a day for years.

flomax and side effects

After suffering from acute urinary retention a Fowley catheter was inserted in the emergency room after which i saw my urologist who immediately prescribed Flomax while keeping the catheter in place for five days. After removing of the catheter, urine flow started right away and I have had zero problems since while on Flomax. After seeing the litany of complaints about Flomax I can only say I have experienced zero side effects but noticed and enhanced libido and no retrograde emissions. I think this drug is great and a noticeable benefit is a significant reduction in blood pressure ## I am so glad that it's working so well for you! That's awesome! And it definitely has to be better than the catheter!! The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness...

Is it normal to be prescribed to take Flomax for 30 days?

I was prescribed Flomax to help pass my first ever kidney stone. Is it normal to have to take this for 30 days? This seems like a long time to me. ## Hi Kimberly, Based on my research, Flomax is not intended to be used as short term treatment. As long as you aren't experiencing any negative side effects, just take it as prescribed as your doctor. I've read that Lemon Juice can be quite effective for those trying to pass the kidney stones. I'm sure you could also substitute other citrus fruits for lemons as well. I've read that juicing grapefruits is really good for the body- and since it's a citrus fruit I imagine it could help a great deal! I hope this helps! ## You can not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking flomax. This caution is on the prescrip...

Drug Interactions alfa and beta blockers

i take flomax and a beta blocker....one is a alfa blocker....i was told that they should not be taken together..thanks ## i said i take flomax for prostrate enlargement and i take atenolol a beta blocker for high blood pressure...the flomax is a alpha blocker...i was told the 2 should not be taken togather....vacation in thailand but reside in mexico...also i saw on the web that flomax does not reduce the size of the prostrate and only advodart does...but very expensive...hope this info helps...thanks ## No, the medications can be taken together and it is often beneficial to do so, in the case of some health conditions. Learn more Flomax details here. Learn more Atenolol details here. And the way the Tamsulosin in Flomax actually works is by blocking the alpha receptors in the bladder n...

besides flomax & hytrin and avodart what is there to treat BPH? ## I have BPH. I tried Avodart and found it frustrating: it was very effective in removing symptoms of BPH fast, but unable to move beyond turgid for intercourse; if climax occurred , it felt like someone strangled me down there, ie: the gun fired but no bullets. I was switched to Cialis 5mg: just as effective on BPH but slower to have an effect. Took 4 months for effects of Avodart to wear off. Gun has bullets. But Cialis also can have side effects in some people.

## like to know what this is used for? I have samples to take ## I believe the medication in question was Flomax, it's used to treat the urinary difficulty that is associated with an enlarged prostate. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and insomnia. An odd side effect I found listed, but have no explanation for is dental problems…no specifics as to what type, either. Learn more Flomax details here. Are there any comments or concerns?

Flomax buying in USA

How can I purchase Flomax brand capsules at a low price? My location is USA. ## Hi Ron, you might consider looking into the manufacturer's patient assistance program. You can read more details about the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation Patient Assistance Program. I hope this helps and wish you the best!

death and flomax

be extremely careful when taking flomax and read the fine print. it tells you that you run the risk of dying from flomax if you do certain reasonable thing. like living. took flomax for 4 days, worked out in the yard for a couple of hours. laid down on the front porch and stopped breathing. but for the grace of God i am still here, disabled but alive. user beware. ## Wow, I'm actually surprised they allow drugs like this to remain on the market. If death is a side effect, then what's the point of taking it? LOL! no pun intended there. You can actually report experiences like this to the FDA's med-watch program if you wish to. I'll go ahead and post the link below so you can have a look at it: fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/default.htm Through here, you can report serious medica...

Took one Flomax and 3 days later still OK

Had enlarged prostate made smaller 2 years ago...was 90% better for a year and a half but recently was having night problems with flow and starting. Took ONE Flomax 3 days ago, and was immediately better. Wanted to see if I could get away with every other day. Been 3 days now and everything still fine. Wonder how long this will last, primary dr. was surprised the slow flow and starting returned. ## Your doctor didn't provide you with any advice or information? Flomax contains the active ingredient Tamsulosin and, while it is normally taken daily, it is possible that it may work better for you taken every other day, or so. This method is frequently used with medications, when someone is very sensitive to them and experiences a lot of side effects, since it may help reduce them, but s...
