In most cases, due to the new laws that went into effect at the beginning of the year, if you require it for long-term treatment, you'll be required to see a specialist, such as a Psychiatrist.

Except for in certain rare cases, severe restrictions are being placed on how long general practitioners can prescribe such medications.

I asked you before, what are these new laws? Are these new State laws? What are the new prescribing limits from the General Practitioner? Xanax has not been re classified or scheduled in our Country. Do you have any links available? Sure some States are getting tough with Pills but what are the new guidelines?

To all of you who want Xanax: Please consider what you are doing. This is not the answer. You don't want to be dependent on a drug. I have been there. I know it is really hard and really scary to face your fears. But you can. FIND AND INSIST on help. You are worth it. I am a psychologist and sometimes find my colleagues, well, just don't get it.

Dee, I'm not sure M.D.s get it either? I would like to someday get off of the Alprazolam. Xanax is the worst in its class for withdrawals. Those of us who have been through it know this!

Xanax has always been a scheduled drug in the U.S. Family Practice doctors have to send you to a specialists to get it now.. (Psychiatrist) Basically, the doctors are covering their own asses. I doubt very much you can find a MD who will prescribe it.
You;re right about the withdrawal. I had gran mal seizures for months. I wish I could help you. Want an assignment?

My doctor has me on 4 mg of xanax a day, and discharged me bc of the relationship I had w his staff. They lied and said they would take my insurance, bcbs of florida ppo, select plan. Now I'm trying to find a new dr to get me off these xanax, after 5 years.

Florida is a tough State these days for Xanax, one of the original problem States due to abuse. In fact much of the South is that way too. What type of relationship did you have with the staff. I have never had a Doctor say no although I was put on a limited amount by my first Florida Doctor back in 1998. He was creepy and refused Soma even then. I had a BCBS PPO and assume I would have problems finding the medicine in todays climate as well. 4 mg is a strong dose. If things get really bad get to an ER!

I need it for a chemical imbalance. It's the only medicine that works for my constant anxiety and panic attacks. I've been going through 5years of therapy now and even my therapist says i need it. Just hard to find some where that will prescribe them for me.

Do you wake up every morning with PTSD and have an upset stomach? Your brain is so overexcited that you cannot function to get ready for school or work most of your life?

If you call this facing your fears as a psychiatrist, think about being raped as a child by your stepfather until you are old enough to leave the house. How about a mother who's too afraid of her own husband to do anything because he threatens her???

If this is you and you have walked in my shoes, then don't think that all of us are just like you!

I was diagnosed with PTSD severe panic attacks and anxiety in my early twenties I'm 45 now and I have been on these regiments of drugs sense. I need a doctor that can prescribe me 2 milligrams of Xanax as well as either hydrocodone or Percocet 10 325 for blown out discs in my back and my neck and which I have an MRI to back that up. Could you please help me?

Where do you go to after you complete the figures? Finding a doc online is the hardest part, but so is having extreme anxiety/panic. Only to those who are really in need.

Unfortunately, my doctor of 11 years has retired, due to health concerns. But, he was prescribing me 90 Xanax per month. Now i can't find any doctors that are willing to prescribe this med. If you know any specifically in North Tampa area, please reply. Thank you.

I have NOT found another Doctor to prescribe Xanax yet in Tampa area. I was seeing my previous doctor for 11 years. He suddenly retired, after having heart condition. I know it usually takes time to build trust and relationship with new primary doctor? Do you have an excess amount of unused Xanax? I don't quite understand your posting?

True talk the xanax bars and red devil's were pressed containing 6mg alprazolam. Was abusing them, the withdrawals lasted over a year bit longer tbh. Started feeling myself Had every side effect from seziures nerve pain no sleep As you are well aware a living hell..The worst to with draw..I went with a rappid tapper. Didn't have a choice in the matter

Same, but 17 years on a high dosage. Severe anxiety, ptsd & panic disorder. Had the most amazing doctor, never had a problem getting prescription monthly. 16 and a half years later, all of a sudden CVS told me my doctor is not licensed properly which is such bull crap. I looked him up on the database and his license is in good standing. He's on staff at 2 mental health hospitals. Now they're telling me that they won't fill the prescription with these from a different County. Literally the pharmacy cut me off cold turkey. It's ridiculous and very dangerous.

There is an online service called "Cerebral" they claim that they will prescribe Xanax and other meds , over the phone or video. But, it's like a subscription type service, and not sure insurance will cover
it? they have real doctors, and you can check on website if they service your state, and more information.

I don't know where you live/ But, my doctor was pressured to stop prescribing Opiods about a year ago. But, there are "Pain Clinics" that you can use insurance, but must have strong records to show you need these pain killers, and an ongoing relationship. i go every month(sometimes on Zoom call". But, I had to submit X-rays, MRI's, and Doctors notes from previous operations and procedures. They need these documents to cover their a**es! Just check internet for "Pain Clinics" in your area! they are only ones who will now prescribe any type of opiods.
