Fenofibrate is most commonly used to help lower cholesterol and yes, those can be common side effects of most of these types of medications.

Learn more Fenofibrate details here.

You should talk to your doctor, as it may not be the right medication for you and you may need to try something else.

How long have you been taking it?

I took it for only 20 days, I was to take it for one month, but I had to go to Kailash Mansarovar journey on 16th July & while climbing even the common stairs I was getting heavy tiredness and pain in the back & muscles so I asked my doctor, he told me to stop taking it. But I had to face its worst side effects while on high altitude on the way to Kailash mansarovar via Tibet/china. There was pain and very low level of oxygen in the body, one night it came down to 45, I was given oxygen through nostrils and the level was maintained I came to know about it later in the night of 20th july at an altitude of 4600m (15000 ft).It was narrow escape. Thank god am alive.

Have been on fenofibrate 6 months. I was getting more tired every day. Aches and pains felt like the flu and nauseated every morning. The worst was the cramping. My toes would spasm on both feet in the middle of the night. I don’t care what my triglycerides are; fish oil helped just as much. Back to Crestor and fish oil for me. This was the worst med I ever took, and it took me this long to realize that I felt like I was dying because of this crappy med. headaches and depression too.

Could Fenofibrate block the absorption of iron? I have been taking this for the past 6 months. I went in for a checkup and found that I have anemia. We didn't find any bleeding in my body.
