Fenofibrate Dosing Regimen

I am on fenofibrate 54 mg 1x a day and my dr wants me to increase to a larger dose. Can this be taken 2x a day until I use up my 90 day supply and then go to the next highest dose of 160mg?

I'd suggest checking with your doctor or pharmacist, since 2 of them will still not equal the amount of the new dosage.

What has your doctor advised?

An increase in dosage could cause you to experience more side effects, which may include: nausea, dizziness, stomach pain and skin reactions.

Can the fenofibrate 54 mg tabs be doubled up like this per day?

Why didn't he just order a one tab of 108 mg? Instead of me taking two tabs of 54 mg each??
