Femilon Drug Information

It is a birth control pill. It comes with a pack of 21 pills. The pill is small white in color. This pill was prescribed by a doctor when I was in India and I would like to know if its available in US.

Yes, though it is most often found in the US under other names, a name brand for it here would be Desogen and a generic Apri.

I started taking femilon from 9th day of my menstrual cycle. During 1st week I took unwanted 72 once on the 14th day due to unprotected intercourse the day before. Then during 2nd and 3rd week I didn't use any precaution. My period was supposed to be on 29th of August. But it has not started yet. Should I go for pregnancy evaluation.?

is it possible to get pregnant even if you are on the pill. i am currently using femilon and i have to confess that i accidently forgot the pill and took 2 doses on the same day. i continued to have unprotected intercourse. i am currently still on the pill and as such havent gotten my period. but i feel that i have gotten pregnant/. i know the simplest solution is to do a home pregnancy test but i would just like to know the possibility of getting pregnant in this situation

I AM 38 YEARS MOTHER OF TWO CHILDREN.AGE -11 AND AGE 06.I HAD BOTH CAESARIAN DELIVERY.
I HAD ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS BEFORE HAVING THE FIRST AND SECOND CHILD.I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS.
FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS MY HUBBY USE TO USE CONDOMS BEFORE SEX,
NOW HE INSIST THAT I START WITH ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS.
1) IS IT SAFE TO HAVE PILLS AT THIS AGE?
2) WILL IT LEAD TO WEIGHT GAIN?
3) WHICH IS THE MOST SAFE WITH LESS OR NO SIDE AFFECTS ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE PILL IN THE MARKET?COST IS NOT AN ISSUE.Please mention the brands which would have the very less side affects ?

iam 23 years old unmarried girl,my prob is dis frm the last 3 months my periods cumes late by week..after that my date was due on 27th july,2011but its didint cum ,after 3 rd of august lite spotting found and on 20th august my date was cum,but till now its not stop...in ultrasound impression was ? u can google it,PCOD: polycystic ovary disease/disorder.
Condition when you have multiple [more than 1] cysts in your ovary both sides or one. The cysts can be measured in size, less than 5 cm can be cured by medicines, more than 5cm needs to be surgically removed [very small and simple procedure, laparoscopy].

My friend had two cysts in both her ovaries, ultrasound gave the size as 10cm and 6cm, MRI gave 8cm and 5 cm. She got her laparoscopy done, 1 hr operation, no big deal, minimally invasive, got both removed, and the biopsy stated 4.5 cm and 7.5 cm cysts [what a difference]. Anyways she was fine the second day of operation[roaming around], but there is a risk of it reoccurring for which u need to take medicines and oral contraceptives to prevent recurrence.

Now she is on ayurved and allopathic treatment as both claim to have solutions though the former says is foolproof, latter as usual says "we cant comment yet,will see after 3 months" of injections and medicines

I am not a regular here, just passing through so replied, plz don post further queries to me.

I m 24 years old. I got just married last month , please clear me in the last month when me n my hubby was started to do the sex after 2days my condition is to low..i was having fever that day..after that doctor suggested me to take 21days caurse fo femion.i used that for 21 days but my period supposed to come on 2nfd it was came on 18th. in between that i have done the pregnency test also and i was littile bit sure for pregnency..u please tel me if every month my period will come late for only resone to femilo,,,isnt it good??? now also i have taken 5 days tablets . please tell me the solution...

I have been taking femilon since 20days and this is the first time I have been taking femilon . I have irregular periods so my doctor suggested me to take femilon as I was having heavy bleeding . I started femilon on 13th of march 2013 and now only 1 pill is left I have been taking femilon withou missing any pills but not at the same time everyday. I had unprotected sex with ejaculation inside my vagina on the second last day of my pill after intercourse I took my second last pill. Can you please tell me what are the chances of me being pregnant I am still left with 1 last pill of femilon to complete the 21 pack.

Hi. Im 25 yrs old unmarried girl with regular periods. But from the past 8 months my periods arrive 4-6 days earlier each month like i got my periods last month on july 21st and this month on august 17th. I also suffer from clots in bleeding and lower back pain and stomach pain. I met a gyneacologist done with the scanning which was normal. Doctor has prescribed femilon (21pack) and said this will treat your blood clots and periods too. Will that do? Is this treatment going to work for me? Im very scared to use femilon tablets as those are hormones and have a lot of side affects. So please help me clear my doubts. I'll be very thankful for ur suggestions plz. Plz help me out...

Hi I am 25 yrs old unmarried, 1st time it happened with me in the month of oct, it started blood spotting from the 1st to 4th of Oct then 5th to 9th my regular period came, then 10th-11th I was OK but again from 12th to 22nd regular spotting started. Then I got ultrasound done and my left and right ovary found enlarged; anechoic left was 41×25mm and same thing right side 58×41 mm and cyst also found in ovary so doc given me femilon for this condition. I want to know that is this pill OK for my treatment. Because as I read it's a pregnancy prevention pill. Pls reply soon.

Hi, I have been on femilon for more than a year now. I got my last period on 12th Dec and started this month's femilon pack of 21 on that very day. On 23rd I had unprotected sex and missed my pill on that day however I had two pills the next day and have been taking the normal 1 pill daily after that. Am I protected against pregnancy?if I stop my pill now (I still have 8 to go before the pack finishes) will there be any risks?

my daughter aged 16 yrs . From last 2015 th 1st april after my wife expiary she had been suffering from PCOD& after doctor investigation by sonography she had taken FAMILON TABLET. Now at present according to doctor advice , after doing sonography she had removed from PCOD , & all position is normal . But from last 6 months she is suffering from sevior headeac , bomiding condition,. due to that I had seen her Neuro doctor , after doing MRI,EEG, Blood report includig thyroid everything is normal except hemoglibin is 10.1. At present on 5th day again her period is start but the gyno doctor on 3rd day told dont take familon . Now what I WILL DO ? pl tell .

I was taking regestrone to delay my period but it did not work. Now I want to delay my period next month. Can I take femilon from the 5th day of my cycle and continue it without stopping for 7 more days? My age is 35.

My ovarian cyst operation was done last September. After the operation my uterus thickness is 14mm. During the 2nd day of my period it was very heavy. I have to take 3 tranostat tablets to stop bleeding. Last month I had taken femilon tablets prescribed by my doctor. In the coming month can I continue to take femilon? I have been taking femilon this month and on the 6th day of my period the bleeding became normal again.
