False Positive Test For Benzo Taking Mirtazapine

I have had 3 drug tests all coming back positive for benzo and because of this my child has been removed from my care. I am taking mirtazapine but they are adamant that this would not cause it and that I am taking something else. I am not and at my wits end because if my test came back negative i would get my child back.

Yes ma'am.I take Remeron and all my drug test read pos.Im furious.Ive tried for better employment and couldnt figure out why I was failing these test.Ive never taking any type of drugs,,ever.I finally figured out if I was failing test and the only thing I was taking was Remeron,,,I stopped two days before an interview,,,I passed.This should be on labels of Remeron,,that it will give a positive reading.

My daughter had a drug test today and came back positive for benzos and she is taking mirtazaphine. We have court tomorrow are they going to lock her up now? She just started this medicatation right before she was released from a 10 day hospitalization stay.

I too am testing positve for benzo . I haven't taken any an 4 months . I could get a script but I dont want to. My point is WHY Amy coming up positive..I've been taking benedryl for bad itch, I take blood pressure meds, thyroid meds, mirtrazapine once in awhile for sleep, topamax ans Imatrix for migrains..nothing in benzo family..I'm so frustrated ..I'm almost off probation..and it probably ruining it! Anyone see a combo of meds here that may be causing it?

I took a u.a. today and was positive and the only thing I took was a Remron? Is a benzo? Please help me figure this out. They sent it off to lab?

I just tested positive for benzodiazepines. I take 15mg of mirtazipine, 600mg pregabalin, 225mg of venlefaxine and 50mg lorsartan, none of these should test positive for benzodiazepines and because of this false/positive I am homeless and furious I have not taken anything I shouldn't have and have stuck to my medication....I don't know what else to do

mirtazapine is not a benzo. Benzos however will stay in the urine for up to 6 weeks depending on prior usage. As well as many one time events that can also linger in the bodies system for longer than you can expect. Possibly from past usage or other medications. If your urine or blood is sent to the lab they will see the exact chemicals and the amount in the system and can give a correct timeline of when and what it was to show the result of a benzo positive screening. So having immediate blood or urine sent to a lab will be the best way or showing proof of innocence and explanation. Without immediate results from a lab the courts or any kind of professional will accept your positive as a failure on your part. So to cover your own asses get proof that very day and have the results sent or shown to whoever is giving your tests.

Hello I've been taking mirtazapine for 2.5 months and was just curious and made a research on Google and found out that a lot of people who are taking mirtazapine have been getting positive results for benzodiazepines. I'm so worried that it'll cost me my job. Has anyone using them and got tested can answer? Also if anyone experienced this would showing them the prescription fix the problem? Thanks
