No, Trazodone hasn't been known to cause a false positive for Benzodiazepines, it's known to cause them for LSD and Amphetamines.

I just got off the phone with my insurance company. I have supplemental that pays me extra if I'm Hospitalized because of an accident. Well the insurance company just told me that after me waiting over a year that my claim was denied. They told me that I tested positive for LSD. That really blew me away. I've tried it once like 22 years ago. So I knew something was really messed up. So I did a google search looking for medications that can cause false positives and what do you know the very first one on the list is Trazadone. Which I've taken for years. Why the doctor just decided to label me a LSD freak is beyond me. That will cause me a couple thousand dollars from my insurance settlement. Also, whenever I'm at the hospital it will show that I showed up in the hospital all beaten up and on LSD. The doctor i guess confirmed is suspicions because I wasn't real responsive. Well that kinda of happens when you are assaulted and beaten down by three thugs. I suffered multiple facial fractures. I broken orbital bone, my cheek bone was crushed in so back that I had to have facial reconstruction surgery. So yeah I might have been non responsive. Tell me someone in that condition that wouldn't be. So now I'm out of money and I'm labeled a Druggie. When all the doctor had to do was check my medication history. And there is another test they can do to make sure. I'm really upset about this. Is there anything legally I can do? Thanks

Verwon a lot of antidepressant medications cause false positives for benzos, trazodone being one of them.

Yes trazodone will cause a false positive. I am on parole and my trazodone dose was raised 100mg. I never tested positive before while on my trazodone, after taking the higher dose for a couple days it was time for me to go report. When i took the UA i tested positive for methamphetamine and benzo.
