I had a surprise drug screening done by my probation officer. I had done little bit of cocaine, and tested positive for that and suboxone. I have never taken suboxone before. I am on buspar, wellbutrin, and nuerontin, and just recently started the nuerontin. Can either of these meds or all of them combined cause the reasoning for the positive result for the suboxone?

Not true ! I have never taken Suboxone! I took a. Drug test an came up positive for buprophen or whatever its called. I took neurotin an it caused a false positive.

Judgement tells more about the person & their judgements, than the person they're judging. I have gone to pain management for 12 years & have never failed a UA, however, I tested positive for Suboxone last week. I am not a liar, or an addict, however, I am a Nurse & I can verify, that False-Positives happen all the time. Ppl come here for help & answers, not for criticism.

It is misinformation, that MS Contin, or Morphine, can reflect, or be metabolize, as Oxycodone. They are two completely different medications. If you tested positive for Oxycodone & hadn't ingested it, it is a false-positive, not related to Morphine though.

The same thing has happened to me. Just check out the generic names for both medications and it"ll take a toxicologist to prove our innocence!
I'm not on probation but I am a nurse and know just about every medication - generic and trade name.
Only bad thing is for me is that I don't get to take the one antidepressant medication that makes me wake up feeling great. :(

I go to the VA for Primary Care and to a private Neurosurgeon for bad back pain. Doc at VA prescribes Tyl with Codeine and the Neuro guy gave me a script for Tramadol which is an opiate (light weight one but still). I also take Tamoxifen for Breast Cancer and vitamins. I have endoscopies every 3 mos and to wake you from the sedation they do use Naloxone or something like that but my last Endoscopy was AUG 3 and today is NOV 16 so more than 3 mos ago. I also had a drug test today and Oct 4th and BOTH have shown Buprenophine. I am shocked, I have NEVER taken that drug unless they used to to awaken me after my multiple endoscopies every 3 -5 mos for the last 3 years. Can it store in fat if given to me ever 3 or so months for a couple of years. SOMETHING has to be the reason because I do not take this drug prescribed and not prescribed!!!

Hahahaha, sorry for the laugh it's just kinda funny..... Think about it... You did cocaine but subs were in your system. Wild guess, maybe your s*** was stepped on and cut with subs.

I take Klonopin 1mg 1/2 QAM and noon, and 1mg QHS since 2014 for Tardive Dyskensia. I am also on Neurontin 600mg TID for 10-12 years, for neuropathy, just changed from Zoloft of many years to 40mg Prozac Dec 21st 2016. I have been sick with Bronchitis for over a months had 2 steroid shots & a 6 day Prednisone pac, 2 rounds of Keflex & 2 rounds of cefprozil, Dayquil & Nyquil, plus cough syrup with Codeine.. I have taken Oxycodone 30mg since 2011 for degenerative both hips & spine disease through my pain management Dr. I take Calcium and multi vitamins & trazadone 300mg QHS, L-Thyroxine 50mcg, as well as a combination of many other drugs nothing illegal. I recently popped positive for Suboxone a medication I have never taken on an urine screen. Please advise I want to prove I haven't taken anything but my prescibed drugs. I have taken a lot of Ibuprofen lately as well.

Last week I had a uruine test for the friend of the court regarding my daughter custody. I test pos oxy suboxine hydrocodine and amphetamines... I on Hydrocodine wellbutrin plus a blood pressure med dont have the name on me. I lost All parental rights and i never touch 3 of the 4 meds (amphetamimes Suboxine and oxy) Does any one have reseach or anything i can use to prove that this test is wrong and that my other meds are the cause i need help my daughter is 4 years old and i cant live with out that little girl!! Please

THAT is just not true. I tested + for Buproprine (Suboxone) twice from urines and I NEVER took the drug. I insisted they send it out for a specific test and it came back NEGATIVE but the screening test the VA used here in Boston comes up positive. TERRIBLE they need to get a new test!!!

Just drink a double espresso. Wellbutrin (Bupropion) has very similar effect because they both release norepinephrine. It can also give a false positive for amphetamines because it is a keto-amphetamine and main component (Cathinone) is use to produce Bath Salts.

Im on hydrochloride. And the dr tryed to say there is suboxin. In my urine. I have never ever taken that. All I Take are dr prescribed medications. And sudafed. Vare rarely thou. What is causing this?

My urine drug screen showed a false positive result (7.6 H) for suboxone. I never took this drug. I was discharged from my pain dr... Neurontin and Zoloft are just two of the meds mentioned which could cause a false positive result.

Hi all! I am currently prescribed generic Wellbutrin 150mg sr twice a day and generic adderall 10mg twice a day. I had to give urine twice. The first time it came back saying that I had suboxone in my urine with norocodine and the second time two weeks later showed only norocodine but in a higher amount. I don't take pain medications and have never taken anything over what I have been prescribed. There should be no reason why this is showing on my urine tests. I am also taking birth control and was on an antibiotic (clindamycin) for a tooth infection. Has anyone had this issue before? Could it be the lab?

There is no way you will test positive for suboxone by having it on your finger. It literally has to pass through your system, through your liver, etc, for them to get a true positive on a drug screen. That's just like somebody selling off their Suboxone and trying to stick one without digesting it in a jar of somebody else's clean pee. They know that that's Suboxone did not go through your system. And this is a fact told to me by the director of chemical dependency at the hospital I go to. He has been giving out Suboxone for 14 years to many patients and there's not a trick in the book you'll get by him.
