I've been taking Metoprolol Tartrate 50 Mg once a day for a few years now. A few months ago my doctor increased my Metoprolol Tartrate 50 Mg to twice a day. I've been experiencing EXTREME EXHAUSTION and I feel really heavily drugged especially when I'm trying to wake up in the morning. Does anyone else experience EXTREME EXHAUSTION due to taking Metoprolol Tartrate. When I first started taking the medication I felt sluggish/tired however, I thought it
was due to Menopause -- now when I was instructed to double the medication I tend to think its the Metoprolol Tartrate. I have high blood pressure and also angina so I have to be on a beta blocker. Anyone else have felt the way I feel? Thanks very much for any feedback. I appreciate it as I can't take this exhaustion for another day and I feel my doctor is useless and I'm stuck with him (long story).

I am very sorry about what you're going through, especially since you can't switch doctors.

And yes, it may be due to the increased dosage of this medication, it can cause such issues as side effects, in some people, or it may be causing your blood pressure to go too low at certain times.

When I had severe problems with Metoprolol and needed a beta blocker, (Congestive heart failure) my doctor switch me to Carvedilol:

It's known to usually cause less side effects than its relatives, so you might want to ask your doctor about trying it, instead.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Palpations and panic from Metoprolo/

Has anyone ever experienced palpations or anxiety attacks while taking Metoprolo Tartrate?

I'm on 12.5 Mg twice a day and the symptoms nearly always occur with the PM dose.

I’ve been taking metoprolol for a few years for tachycardia. Gradually, the dose has increased to my current 200mg level daily. Now I’m struggling with fatigue to the point I’m having difficulty working. Anyone else experience this or have any advise?
