Hi. I have had the implanon since 2012. It is now due to be removed. It was expired on april 28, 2015. Today is september 12 2015 and I still have it. I got my first menstrual since march on sep. 2015. Is the implanon officially done working? Should I be worried? Am I healthy?

It may still be releasing some hormones in your body, plus once it's expired, it can take a couple months for your body to adjust and for your natural hormones to take back over and things to return to normal.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Implanon as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi. I'm a 22 year old female. I've had the implant for 6 years (I had it changed out 3 years ago) and the current one I have has expired. I had unprotected sex the day it expired but I've been using protection since. I haven't had my period the entire time the implant was active but I got my period for the first time last week. It was a weird dark red almost brown color, it was very light, with a lot of clots. This week my boobs are very sore and tender to touch, so bad that I'm avoiding wearing a bra or laying on my stomach. My question is, is it possible that I could be pregnant or is this just normal for the implant expiring?

Hello I had my inplanon inserted in 2012 and it expired 2015 but it's now 2017 getting close to 2018. I haven't had my period 3-2 years now and just recently my left boob has liquid stuff when I squeeze it and some kind of brownish watery looking stuff has came out of my vag. My family said I could be getting ready for my period to restart again bc of that. Idk and was wondering if y'all have any ideas. I can't get it removed bc the surgeon has said awhile back to me that it was put in by Texas and I live in Oklahoma they wouldn't remove it. Worse part is the medicade says I make two much so I can't be on that any more and I don't have enough money to be able to afford health insurance. I'm 22 years old and had my son 5 years ago. I'm kinda scared bc someday I do want another baby.

I got the implant for the first time in February 2015 and was told it was good for three years. I went to planned Parenthood today to have it removed and reinserted and am being told that the implant is now good for four years and that back in 2015 they were telling everyone it was good for three years but studies have come out since then saying it is good for four years. Has anyone else had a similar experience recently?

Hi,

I got the implanon for about 2 years and a few months. I had it removed last year early in the year, way before the expiring date.

I've been having unprotected intercourse since then but I still haven't fell pregnant. Should I be worried cause I really am starting to think i've become infertile?

Do I need help? Is there medication I could use to make the implanons hormones be removed completely from my body?
