@josephine F,

Based on my research, Etizolam possesses sedative and skeletal muscle relaxant properties and is indicated as a short-term treatment of insomnia. It's not classified as a sleeping pill, but is prescribed for that purpose..but not as a long term form of treatment. This medication should be taken with food.

Escitalopram has FDA approval for the treatment of major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder in adults. It is not prescribed for the treatment of insomnia, so it most likely will not help with sleep issues. However, it may make you feel much more relaxed due to the fact it's prescribed for anxiety.

It's important that you only take these medications as prescribed by a doctor.

Do you have any more questions?
