Hi
I am taking eptoin 100 mg twice a day in morning from and night from April 2012 till date. it is because i met with an accident and experienced a mild fracture in the spot betwen left eye and nose. But in my medical summary it is mentioned that "No history of seizures" but i had an airblock in brain. But i was concious and all the time and no more injury to brain. But doctor adviced me to take eptoin 100 mg daily in morning and night every day. Is it necessary to take eptoin daily or will it cause any side effects if i stop using it. Kindly help me in this..

These types of medications are sometimes given, when someone has suffered severe head trauma, to prevent seizures, because even though you didn't have one, the risk can always be there after such accidents.

Learn more Eptoin details here.

And no, you shouldn't stop taking it abruptly, because that could cause a rebound effect that may trigger seizures.

For your own health and safety, you should follow your doctors instructions for taking it and not stop it, without their approval.

In many cases, they are prescribed for about 2 years, until the doctors are certain that there's been a chance for any possible injury to the brain to heal, so it can recover and the threat of seizures has most likely passed.

Are there any other questions or comments?
