The vertigo lasts for the day. Has anyone else expierenced this?

My medical aid wont pay for epillum, now he is on eppilizine cr500 - as far as I know it is just a generic med and will work the same. This is all new to me and very scary, I am checking to see if he ok like when he was a baby asleep at night. Just worry! what if he was wrongly diagnosed.......... Would epilizine harm a person when nothing was wrong?

The Eppelizine is working well for my son 500mg in the morning and at night, episodes are now gone. Regular check ups with the neurologist helps as they take his bloods and check his epilum levels regularly. My advise is to just go to the Dr for your routine check ups with a neurologist. Apparently if seizure free after 2 years he will be weened off the meds, so I don't advise just stopping the meds suddenly, you will have to weened off gradually with smaller doses.

Hi

My son has been on Epilim Cr 500 since the age of 14. He has been seizure free for 5 years without any medication. He had a seizure a week ago after 5 years and Dr prescribed Epilizine Cr 500 saying that it works the same as Epilim Cr 500.its still early days so I'm waiting to see if it does work.

Re: Ellie (# 3)

My son was diagnosed at age 13 as well with grand mal. I found out later that it was a kick against his head that caused the seizures and doctors said the hairline fracture will grow closed eventually and the seizures should stop. Try and remember if your son had a blow to his head. My sons seizures was well controlled on Epilim 500 for a number of years. This 5 year stretch was the longest he has been seizure free and medication free. Stress brings on seizures and he was under alot of stress at work. So I know now he has to be two years on meds before doctor wean him off again. I hope this helps.

Re: Ellie (# 3)

Ellie your son could be having silent seizures and that is why he wakes up feeling this way. It is advisable to have him checked out as soon as he had an episode and doctor will tell you whether he had a seizure or not
