Eliquis (apixaban) Side Effects

I have been taking Apixaban for PE's for nearly 2 years now thinking that it was great as Warfarin was unreliable and had to have too many blood tests. I am 56 and have now put on a lot of weight but didn't realize that this drug can cause this. My lifestyle hasn't changed very much so I couldn't understand why I was putting on weight. Also at night when sleeping my arm on the opposite side of how I'm sleeping also goes numb and I wonder if this can have anything to do with the drug too, as well as feeling really tired all the time. Is there an alternative as I really am feeling depressed about my weight?

I am on Apixaban and I am having a very dry mouth and have to drink water the whole night. I talked to my doctor and he says it's because of the medicine and he can't advise. Please let me know what to do?

I am on Eliquis 5mg x2 daily and I am since getting very dry all over inside my mouth & throat. I asked my doctor about it and he said I have to live with it or get a 2nd stroke. Please advise. I have Warfarin and other blood thinners.

My urine, bowel movements and body odor all have a distinct odor now. I don't like it. I also am experiencing insomnia as well. Is this related to Eliquis?

I just stopped taking Eliquis because of a nose bleed and had to go to the hospital to get it fixed. For a month now I've had itching and it goes from one place to another. I need something to stop the itching.

What's the alternative to Eliquis? Eliquis causes bleeding, itching, insomnia and headaches.

One year ago I had undergone a cardioversion for AF. I awoke during the operation, had burns on my upper abdominals. In the local hospital, I had a cardioversion twice since without any incidents. The cardiologist put me on rhythmol and eliquis. Had some tremors, itching, swelling, pounding of pulse was noticable but was told that it should be tolerable. 6 weeks ago my heels have become so painful I drag my feet. I have tried everything I can think of (heat, cold, foot pads, expensive padded shoes, Tylenol, salt soaks, cremes) and have been advised to keep my cardiologist appt in 2 weeks.

I have been taking Eliquis (Apixaban) since October 2017 but have only just started experiencing nausea every day. Will the nausea go away again or will I need a change of medication?

I began taking Eliquis 5mg twice a day for a blood clot when my doctor increased the dosage to 10mg twice a day. Since the increase, I've been experiencing vision problems including blurred and double vision as well as a droopy eye lid. Could this be a side effect of the increased dosage of Eliquis?

I started Eliquis almost 4 months ago for DVT in my right leg and 4 PEs in my lungs. Immediately I began having panic attacks. At first I thought it was because I almost died and still had clots in my body but then I started noticing the attacks hit at random and unexplainably. I could be chilling in my recliner watching a sitcom and then BAM it hits like a freight train. Insomnia hit immediately as well. I saw a psychiatrist to get a script for Xanax. I take a half one when attacks hit and a whole pill before bedtime. I had horrible chest pain and shortness of breath but that has mostly subsided and could have just been the PEs. I immediately developed horrible reflux to the point I was throwing up in my sleep. Put on 40 mg Omeprazole for that. For the last month I have been getting progressively worse and worse diarrhea and nausea and have thrown up some. I have had bad low back pain for years and cannot take my back meds while on Eliquis so back pain has increased 50 fold. Depression has set in and it could be the Eliquis or it could be the pain and knowing I have clots. I have gained 20 pounds since I started Eliquis which is also adding to my back pain. I was on testosterone injections which is what is believed to have caused the clot to begin with so have not had test therapy for over 4 months now. ED has set in completely. I understand this drug is helping me stay alive but the side effects are horrible. If I had to deal with these side effects for several more months I almost think I would prefer death. I am alive but this is not living.
