Effexor Xr 75 Mg Capsules Sa; Hepatitis C & Cirrhosis Of Liver

The Med. (above) was given to me by my pain clinic Dr back in March of 09. It is Effexor XR 75 mg capsules SA Shape oblong, Color Peach. Marked W Effexor XR. 75 Wyeth Phar. Just wondering what this is used for. My Pain clinic Dr. has given me 30 mgs of methadone for past 2 yrs and I found this bottle of pills which is out of the norm because he refuses to ever write for anything other than the methadone. Also I realize the new interfuron (sp) can be used to remove the vast majority of Hep C. (I know of no one that has been able to tolerate it to it's conclusion) But what about the beginnings of Cirrhosis? My gallbladder is well distended with a solitary calcified gallstone. Which the Liver Dr. stated cannot be removed. To compond matters I have this chronic back pain and have had since 76 but past 20 yrs much worse. I have a very hard time taking the methadone though it is only 30 mgs as it makes me extremely nausuated. In the past 10yrs I turned to heroin not because I like it but rather, because it does not make me nausuated and it helps with the pain much more than the methadone. Unfortunately I am now beginning to feel the negative effects of the heroin since it is so crudely made in Mexico, me being in Houston Tx area that's all that is available. Only the past 2 yrs did I begin to feel its negative effects. I have open sores on my skin right under my eye size of a dime and I am starting to get more. I know it is from the chemicals left in the black tar, as the sores begin to clear up when I stop the heroin for 6 days. After 6 days I have to have the heroin again because I become so very sick. Though it appears clean and I always but it in the muscle, not the vein. Fact is it is killing me, as it has to now be hurting my liver, but so is the methadone. I cannot have a surgery even if that would help my back because the sedative would probably kill me. Making matters worse I broke my right foot in Nov. 07 and the orthopedic Dr elected to give me a boot to wear rather than do the required surgery. Now I no longer can have the surgery on my ankle which would invlove placing cadivar bone and steel plates with screws, because again the antisteisea (sp) may kill me according to the liver specialists. So I am in a terrible position I take promethegan 50 mg suppository's for the nausuea and I assume that is very bad for my liver. I'm caught in a living hell because if I was to tell my Dr how I have been using heroin he would run me off and he is not inclined to give me a clean opiate which would, from what dr.'s have stated not be so hard on my liver. I don't know where to turn. I never used a pain pill until after my first surgery in 1974. And I will admit there were times that I abused it. But I've not had alcohol in over 20 yrs and I do not abuse any drugs. I hate having to use the heroin, as it it illegal even though I have a system where I do not have to worry about the authorities. I don't know where to turn. I have the foot Dr making me a brace to help with my foot (which is badly broke and now full or arthritsis) since I have not been able to walk more than 100 yrds without extreme pain. And I truly need to be walking I am 60 yrs old & weigh 220lbs at 5'8. Opiates have always swelled me up. I know I have posed a lot of questions, but one more I have is has anyone had experiences with the natural meds.for their liver, i.e., milk thisle. I hope someone can tell me of a Dr in the Houston area that I can turn to to save my life. A change must be made or I feel certain I'll be dead within 3 to 12 months. Thank you for any reply. Effexor is a anti-depressant. I have been on it for several months now. My doc out me on it, because some chronic pain can be do to depression. I'm suprised he didn't ask you how it worked for you? Given the reasons for your pain, I would think he would know it wasn't just brought on by depression. I 'm not trying to preach, but heroin is VERY dangerous! You much better off on the methadone. It isn't great for you, but not nearly as dangerous as heroin. I hope everything is well for you as this is an older post. I know how it is to be dependent on opiates. It's a never ending battle. Please, let me know how you are.

I have hep C and I just started Thymic Formula. It's all natural.. I take six a day along with 2- 1000 mg of milk thistle. My liver was hurting and I was not feeling well. I can tell a big change in myself. Liver not hurting anymore. You can order it online.
Also Mannetech has something that is amazing for the liver. I know two people with hep C that was about to die and their liver was hard. Now their liver soft again and they are doing great. I'm going to try it next. I would stay away from heroin as you said yourself it comes from Mexico and it is very toxic. I had a Uncle and model friend overdose on it. Its no way to go...
