Yes its effective. I've been taking it for about a month and feel sooo much better. The only side effect I've experienced is loss of sexual desire

I would rather have the feeling of well being than sex. To have both would be great but ya can't always get what you want.

I started having panic attacks 2 yrs ago. I have been on 15mg of lexapro for 2 yrs now. It took about 3 weeks before I felt good again. I highly recommend this pill for anyone suffering from panic attacks.

bw about the Cymblata, I tried it for a short time and I nearly drowned from sweating. I burned up all the time. Iam now on Lexapro and hope it will work for me. I stay in a depression from constsnt pain. I have been on it for only a few days but my husband said he wanted a divorce and I haven't cried since I started the meds. and now I just don't care if he gets his divorce. I hope this is good!!!

St ephaine,
Lexapro has been very effective for me. I've been taking about 6 mos. for depression and anxiety. I feel 100% better. It has helped me deal greatly with the death of my husband. The only side effect I've had is loss of libido.

I think Lexapro is the best antidepressant I've taken. Effexor made me sweat profusely and since I'm postmenoposal I thought it was that. So did GYN and now I've cut the extra estradiol and was able to ease off effexor. Now just the Lexapro. feel much better. Good luck.

I have been on Lexapro for a while now and don't have any side effects. If you are having lowered sex drive side effect ask your doctor about adding Wellbutrin to the Lexapro. I was on Wellbutrin for the same reason when I was on Zoloft.

I have never had a conversation with the doctor about elevated liver Profile. Are you taking any other drugs? If this is a possible side effect please let me know.

Re: Regretful (# 31) Expand Referenced Message

I had massive panic attacks on it.
I am so sorry for your side effects. ?? After 3 months of hell this summer I stopped taking it and have not had 1 panic attack since. It helps a lot of people. But I came here to see if others couldn't tolerate it.

Re: lexaprouser2 (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

It CAUSED panic attacks in my case. But I takeca lot if CNS depressants. I think my brain is used to being so slow that even a mild dose of Lexapro gave me 17 attacks in 3mos. As in fire department came ?? 17 times after I couldn't barely operate my cellphone to call. It was awful. I had to tell my Psychiatrist no more.

Lexapro made me NUTS. I was literally about to commit myself on 10mg. I had 17 911 calls in 3 months for severe panic attacks. I take clonazepam 1.5 mg (.5 3x daily). and Lyrica for my feet (150mg 3x daily). I went from mildly depressed to crazy in 3 months. Lexapro was the only change in my meds.

You're a lucky one. Took 5mg for 1 week and it messed me up big time. Terrible side effects, and now dealing with delayed withdrawal symptoms, which is just as bad. 8 weeks since I stopped taking it.

NO! 93 089 is not Lexapro. It is SMX-TMP DS, Sulfamethoxazole 800mgs and Trimethoprim 160mgs, a generic for Septra. This is a combination antibiotic, commonly use to treat intestinal and urinary infections.
