Edarbyclor (blood Pressure Medication) (Page 2)

Updated

This is a relatively new medication, one reason I'm reluctant to take any drug. Once thousands (millions) of people have taken a drug, over a longer time than they've originally been tested, a much broader (more accurate) picture is available.

I've been prescribed at least three medications, over the years, that have been yanked from the market for safety reasons, and don't want this to happen again! The previous blood pressure med.'s I've taken have all had side effects I couldn't tolerate (dizziness, syncope, tiredness, water retention, etc,). Very frustrating! I trust my doctor, but no one knows what the "real world" results will look like, early on. Also, drug reps are hired to be pretty persuasive! I just want BP control with no (or tolerable) side effects!!

So far, I'm experiencing some tiredness and dizziness, but relatively mild. I've been on Edarbyclor for a couple of weeks (one downside: it's very expensive, "tho I was given samples). There are a few other symptoms which may also be related, but I don't want to jump to conclusions without being pretty sure.

Is there anyone out there that's been taking this med. for longer, who's willing to share her/his experiences? I'd like to hear about them! -- Also, I've heard that this med. has been used in Japan for about 5 years. Wonder how to find out, and what their stat.'s are?!

I was taking Edarbyclor 40/20 once daily with 5mg of Amlodipine. It had my BP down as low as 120/70. I found out that Amlodipine was causing ankle swelling and severe knee pain. I ended up in the Hospital with Renal failure and Rhabdomyolysis. I think that Edarbyclor works too well and saw readings of 80/50 at night. I stopped both while in the Hospital and now I only take 80mgs of Valsartan in the morning. My BP is 160/90 at first in the am and it goes down to 140/80. I will never take Amlodipine again. Between nausea, thinning hair and severe knee pain, they were talking about a knee replacement! I stopped Amlodipine and my knees are 100% better. I don't know what to try next, I have been on Benazapril HCTZ, Lisinopril and Ibersartan, all while taking Amlodipine together. Edarbyclor is the only one that really worked, but I am afraid to take it. Valsartan doesn't give me all of the side effects, but one dose a day isn't effective. Sometimes I think that I would rather just have high BP. So many side effects....

I've been taking it for a month 1/2, now I get mild dizziness & headaches at times. As far as the price goes, look online using the medication's name for a discount. The price for me was 200 plus dollars total. After my insurance it cost me $71, but with the discount that I found online using the med's name, I only pay $15. My blood pressure is fine now - I'm averaging 119-121/77-80. Prior to that it was 138-142 / 92-100. One of the major downsides for me is "Gout". OMG my feet kill me daily. When I first wake up, after being on my feet at work then rest, upon getting back up from break OMG the pain is excruciating...but once I start walking back on them, it becomes less painful.

I was taking it as well it had me dizzy and gave me headache but I got on the EDARBYCLOR 40/12.5MG tablets that's been doing me great.... Only downside I had with this one was headache when I wake up so I switched the time that I would normally take it which was before bed time .
I started taking it when I wake up rather than before bed time no more headaches, here and there I'd experience a mild unbalanced feeling but not severe at all. Also you may contact the manufacturer for a discount.... I only pay$ 25 out of pocket my insurance covers their portions, the manufacturer also leave me with just 25 bucks to pay not bad at all.

My doctor prescribed this medication called Edarbyclor after no other meds worked to control my high blood pressure. After almost 30 days I’ve now landed myself in the hospital with dehydration and dangerously low blood pressure. This medication is very powerful and can really ruin your kidneys if you don’t drink enough fluids. I just wanna get out of here but am on day 2 and my BP readings are still low.
