Ecosprin 75, Nialip 375, Lipicard 200 And Amlong 2.5 (Top voted first)

Updated

My father went routine Annual General body including TMT. TMT has positive and after doing Coronary Angiogram they said it is false positive.

In the Lipid profile test his results are like this. Cholesterol 220, Triglycerides 430, HDL 35, LDL 100. He has no sugar and his BP is 150/80 The doctors prescribed the following medicines to him Ecosprin 75, Nialip 375, Lipicard 200 and Amlong 2.5.

His all others test have come normal.

Since the times he started taking these medicines he has irritation on legs, water bubbles have come up on lower legs below ankle on both the legs, water retention is happening in the legs and red spots are seen. Can u please tell why these things are happening to him.

I can provide you information on these medications, as well as their uses and side effects, so maybe that will help narrow down the problem, but this is not professional medical advice.

Ecosprin contains the active ingredient Aspirin, in this dosage and taken regularly, it is primarily used as a blood thinner, to help prevent dangerous clotting.

Common side effects may include: nausea, headache, stomach irritation and ulcers.

Amlong contains the active ingredient Amlodipine, it is most commonly used to help lower high blood pressure and to treat other cardiovascular diseases.

Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches.

Lipicard contains the active ingredient Fenofibrate, this is used to help lower cholesterol.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, joint/muscle aches and abdominal pain.

Nialip contains Niacin, or Vitamin B3. It is often used to help prevent or treat the health conditions that can be associated with a deficiency in this nutrient.

Now, out of these medications, the one that we have seen cause many similar complaints to the problems he has been having is the Amlodipine. It just does not work well for some people and they experience bad side effects that are not commonly seen.

Like I said, we cannot say this with any certainty, but it has happened to several other people that were using it.

What has his doctor said about this problem?

I have HTN for the past 7 years or so. It got highly aggravated in May 2009 by certain medicines given by Ram Dev's Patanjali clinic for allergy (itching) near nostrils. I was hospitalized. I have been taking medicines like amlong 5mg BD, lomat 20 OD, clopid OD, simvastatin OD and Pave 40 OD on advice from a cardilogist. I feel that the tablets olmet and clopid are causing me pain and stiffening of my neck, continuous humming sound in my ears. I want to replace tablet clopid with ecospiring 150. Will the substitute work properly?
