Based on my research, Quetiapine fumarate has an expected shelf life of 36 months (or 3 years).
However it's come to my knowledge from a Harvard Medical School family health article, that most medications can last up to 10-15 years without expressing many signs of degradation or loss in potency. So you shouldn't have any problems using it later down the road as long as it's stored properly.

I was recently given a new prescription of same serouel from the same pharmacy my new meds ran out and pharmacy is closed till Monday Can i safely take the sealed "old" prescription with expiration date of Nov 2011

I honestly haven't seen the list of medications used in that particular study (mentioned in my previous post); so I can't say for sure how good it may be. But if I was in your shoes, given the information from Harvard, I'd probably feel comfortable giving it a try since you still had it sealed and stored properly.
If there is any degradation you'd probably be the first to know based on how effective it is in comparison to what you've recently been prescribed. I think there's only a few types of medications that actually become toxic after the expiration date (namely tetracycline), but you could always double check with your doctor just to be on the safe side.
