Is it normal for a Doctor to prescibe someone to take 1- 10/325mg oxycodone 4x a day?

Well, they can be prescribed anywhere from 1 every 8 hours, to 1 every 6, or 1 every 4. So yes, it depends on the patient, their tolerance to narcotics, and how bad their pain is that needs controlling.

Yes that can be normal. I take 2 10/325 percocets every 4 hours. So you take 1 every 6 hours which =4 per day: mine =12 per day

that is a normal dose, an depending on pain , it can be increased, if needed, more Dr.s are trying to get all patients on extended medication nowadays with instant releif for a break-thru

Yes. i have been taking vicodin 4 times a day for 12 years for fibromaygia and neck pain. I know of people taking hydrocodone 2 every 4 hours which is 8 a day for specific needs, Usually back pain. I don't advocate this as I was up to 8 a day myself from a tolerance level that hit the roof. Take care of yourself. I am here if you need to talk . lorelle
