Hi Theresa,

Based on my research, Deplin is basically a derivative of folate (vitamin B9) that has been converted into L-methylfolate, in order to create serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain.

I can't seem to find any specific details on dosing, other than average amounts ranging from 800 to 1000 mcg; so you may have to discuss that further with a doctor or naturopathic physician, unless otherwise stated on the product labeling.

However, from what I've read, it still sounds like an excellent alternative to prescription drugs for the treatment of depression. Definitely worth considering in my honest opinion.

I hope this input helps!

Theresa, my basic meds are wellbutrin, xanax, celexa. We have tried many drug combinations over the past 15 years, arriving at the above set. We tried Abilify as an add-on , but it had only short term effects and was dropped. We added Deplin about 2 months ago, and I noticed minimal effects. But my wife sees improvements which appear to be continuing. FYI,Deplin is an FDA approved food supplement which at one time had an approved generic. The FDA withdrew that approval, and there is no longer an FDA approved generic. Finally, Deplin is $$$! Should you take it, I suggest you watch closely to see if the result is worth the cost.
