It depends on the type of test being used. There are some that just check for the presence of opiates, but there are also tests that can check for the specific opiate.

If they use a test that checks for the specific ones, then Oxycontin and Oxycodone would both be detected as Oxycodone and Morphine would be detected as Morphine.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Depends on the test being administrated NG cut off hydrocodone is commonly given a false positive for oxycotin
If taking codeine it will synthesize into morphine as a pure state as it passes through the kidneys if you fail any drug test it will be sent to a lab to be further tested to break down what opiate base it started as.

So if you take hydrocodone and you fail for oxycotin the lab will only look for the opiate base not the hyrocodone

Only take the medication you are prescribed and only medicate as directed. The two drugs have different opiate base so they synthesize differently in the kidneys. It all depends on the type of drug test used and the NG cut off. The opiate base in oxycotin and oxycodone are so similar it is common to have a false positive for either drug. Hydrocodone is also common to bring up a false positive for oxycotin, but not oxycodone hydrochloride. The only true way to determine which drug is which is by lab testing if you test positive it will go to a lab for further testing. Codeine will also synthesize to its purest form in the kidney which is morphine. Which making an accurate positive for morphine even if you had taken only codeine. However the lab will only test for the drugs identified on the original test. If its a standard test opiate coc meth amph marijun they will find any drug with an opiate base synthetic or not. Most test now have 10 panel that break down by the opiated base. So if you take hydrocodone and you get a positive for oxycotin they will only check for oxycotin. If its a lab initially they will only check for the drugs that should be in your system and the level.

No. They're both opiates so it won't detect the specific. Unless it's a fancy expensive panel being used , but most probation screenings, job screenings and work comp drug screens will be cheaper and basic. Only detecting all opioid
derivatives and metabolites and synthetics as just opiates.

My urine test is given by my dr. every 6 mo. It's part of a chronic pain management program. I've been taking Oxycodone for 4yrs now. A friend gave me a 100mg pill of morphine when I was in need and I wondered how that would show up in a urine test. Last test I had an oxycontin in my system and I passed the test. another question is does it show how much? And does morphine just show as an opiate or as morphine specifically.

Oxycontin and Oxycodone are both the same drug (Oxycodone) but Oxycontin is time released, Morphine will show up the same on a cheap test but if sent to the lab for a gas chromatography drug testing the exact drug and level of each can be can be determined.
