I'm on my 4th week (2 pills each am & pm) of Contrave and I find my hands shaking when i'm holding something and my heart rate is way up. Anyone else go through this? Also, is it safe to stop Contrave all at once or should you gradually go down the same as it was started.

I thought I was going nuts! I am also experiencing the smoke smell and shaky hands! I just started taking 2 pills in the morning and one at night.

I'm on 50mg Naltrexone and 450mg Buproprion. I cut the Naltrexone in quarters. I get shaky from 12.5mg and vision is a bit blury at times. I also get itchy but not bad. Going to experiment witth a 50mg dose and see what happens. Contrave is 300mg Buproprion/32mg Naltrexone. I already take Buproprion so my doctor added Naltrexone. I can drink a couple beers with no issues then lose interest. It has not cut my appetite much so far but my dose is low at the moment.

My hands are trembling too. I stopped for a day and it stopped. My mind seemed more “jumbled” for lack of a better word and that cleared up too. Is this really better for me than being overweight?

I've quit taking Contrave due to the shaking in my hands when I'm trying to write or do something. Felt like I was wasting my money as well, because it definitely didn't curb my appetite. I had high hopes for this medication, but I am thoroughly disappointed.

So glad that you shared your experience. I have been on Contrave since October and have lost 29 pounds and 31 to go. At first, my only real symptom was dry mouth. That went away in month 3. Since then, I've been smelling smoke (thought I was having smell hallucinations). I saw the strange taste side effect but didn't think it was related to my smelling smoke; I have started seeing tremors in my left hand. I don't know whether to freak out or not. I don't have a follow up until June 1. My heart rate seems to be normal and stable. I may give my doctor a call to see if I need to be concerned.

Yes,my hands do shake a bit while taking contrave.I also want to know what this medication does?My appetite is not reduced at all,and I can't lose an ounce.

Yes! I’m on my second month of it and my hands are shaking so bad that I’m having difficulty writing and using keyboard. My body shakes! Not only my hands! I smell strong cigarette smoke while no one else does. I’m getting off. Instead of helping I feel as I’m losing more health. Besides that, I haven’t lost any weight at all. I’m under a strict diet with zero breads, rice or carbs besides those in veggies. Zero sugar. Speed biking. This is so wrong and way too expensive for me to see my health going in the opposite way. Good luck guys.
