Depending on how far you want to drive but Dr. Hansen in Norfolk, VA sees patients in NC. He will write Roxy's or whatever else. He will put you on an ER opiate and then the Roxys. He is a concierge doctor though. $125 a month plus insurance copays every two months. But if I were you and you have all the documentation...just find a Pain Management doctor in your area. I didn't even know doctor's wrote roxy's for that condition....Isn't that a nerve condition?

Hi,

I noticed your post & wanted to see if you ever found anyone in the area to help with your pain. I am in the Charlotte, NC area & could use the help myself. I was released from a pain Dr in Charlotte & only have a month worth of pain meds left. I don't care if it is 2 hours away if they are good. Please let me know if you are still in Charlotte & found someone! I noticed NC doesn't have a third of the posts as other states. All these ?'s & no answers! Ridiculous! Pls post me back & let me know if you can help!! Thank you??

Amber,

What do you mean concierge Dr? Why is someone paying an ins. copay every 2 months plus $125 a month? Sounds like he does not accept ins. to be charging that price.. I live in Jewel's area seeking pain Mgt. How far is Norfolf from Charlotte? We are running out of options. What is Dr Hansen's first name or the name of his practice? Do you know if he requires a referral? Which state would a person get the script filled: NC or VA? It would not seem NC would take a script from VA nor would VA take a script from someone living out of state. I had a Dr in Charlotte & only went every three months for Dilaudid which was ideal B4 he gave me the shaft. I posted more about that earlier. It was B.S. I only have a month supply left & can't stand the thought of going thru withdrawal. I went for two years to this one, was on Klonopin from my Neurologist the whole time, & was on the same dose of pain med the whole time. This jerk comes up out of nowhere telling me to be off Klonopin in three months after I was on it for 7 years. He did not give me time to ask ?'s & and asking ?'s meant challenging him so I found out the hard way. I was discharged when I told the staff it would be hard & I needed a sub for Klonopin but not antidepressants although no suggestions were offered. I need answers fairly quick & I am hoping for help with my Neurologist but don't know. I suffer from nerve pain too & it can be excruciating. I take 3600 mg of Thornton nerve pain med but it is not snuff. I have been on Dilaudid as well for 2 years & will have hell to pay if I don't get help with my pain. Please help me with details on the Dr in VA if you can. I would prefer not going over two hours but to get out of pain, anything is fair game right now. Legal, that is. Thank you.

There are plenty of good Pain Docs in and around Charlotte. I have seen Dr. Richard Park for 7 yrs now.. I have had 5 back fusions and facial reconstruction from a MVA. If U have proof u indeed need pain meds he will prescribe #120-150 Roxi 30mg.. He may suggest injections as well. As long as u don't f*** up he will turn u over to his PA Anna. Only have to be seen every 3 months once established. Other docs in the group aren't as well liked except Gingerich or Posaick. Good luck.

Re: Amber (# 1)

Hi. I am posting as I have MS, Gastroparesis and chronic kidney stones. I was dx in 2010 with MS. I was put on Dilaudid when first dx since my pain has been so severe. I have been able to modify my pain meds by using other things to help my pain but I am still on MS contin and Oxy. I live in SC and they are now unwilling to perscribe at all. I am fighting hard using the state of Maine as my precedence. I had originally gone back to NJ every three months to my original pain dr. But that is not an option anymore. Blessings to all that is in pain.

I am in so much pain from 4 ankle surgeries, my whole leg swells up twice as big everyday... I am hurting so bad. I have an appointment next week with a doctor in Asheville who does amputations. I can't get a doctor to adequately address my pain. I believe amputation is my only option. Are there any doctors who will prescribe pain medication in NC?

Re: Jo (# 3)

You must go to Dr. Goldberg. I've been going to him for almost 9 years and for 7 of those years he's wrote me methadone 10 MLG 6 times a day plus benzos 3 times a day and out of no where he took me straight off the benzos after taking them 12 years for PTSD and now 2 years later I'm still going to him and getting benzos from another doctor so Dr. Goldberg just told me this last visit I had to come off the benzos an he cut my pain meds in half. I'm so confused of what to do because I'm not sure how he can tell me which illness to pick my Lupus and Fibromyalgia and get my meds back to normal and come off my benzos and let my PTSD kick in and scare my children half to death with episodes? I've wrote the medical board and asked them how he can do this but I've not got a reply yet. I guess I'm lucky he's still seeing me and didn't just cut me off of me pain meds too???? Have you found another Dr. Yet?

I'm looking a pain management clinic in Charlotte, NC that is 420 friendly. My pcp retired and the new doctor will not give me anything... I have suffered with back and neck pain. I consume cannabis because it helps with my ptsd.

I live in South Carolina. Pain care associates does it. They may have an office in that area. They're all over. Also, piedmont pain management has several offices and r pretty good. Strict but if you do as your told they even give u 1 screw up if it's not a real bad screw up. Sure a dirty U/A for a low level of something ur not prescribed isn't horrible compared to heroin, etc. Know what I mean. Good luck.
