Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Re: Kay (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

People who are smart will NEVER recommend a Doctor by name. That Doctor would be overrun with people looking for some one to prescribe pain medications.

I had a Doctor that had barely looked at my medical records and walked in, with out ever even seeing me or talking to me said, in a very mean tone of voice, "I do NOT prescribe THOSE types of medicines". First I had been taking "THOSE types of medications" for many YEARS. Second, I never took anything more than hydrocodone/acetaminopen 7.5 mg x 30 per month. Lastly, I was not there for a prescription refill. Only an initial consultation.

I posted for awhile here several years ago. There were some really great people here at that time. Posts were helpful with lots of good info and encouragement.

How terribly sad regarding Mac. Please guys don't judge others, you have no idea they have been through in the past, and little of what they are going through now. Kindly answer questions without personal attacks or judgements.

I did not see anywhere where you were accused of lying. She was simply stating that degenerative disks do not heal, but only get worse, which is true,

However, it may be different in a younger patient. Your body may indeed heal.

But I'm older, and mine will only get worse; I get steroid injections every few months to reduce the pain.

They are doing artificial disk replacements now, but you have to be either wealthy or have awesome insurance. I hope this is an option for you, and you consider apologizing to that woman.

She was simply stating the facts as she knows them, not attacking you, but trying to help you.

The pain makes us edgy and defensive at times. Be kind, it will help you get more suggestions for help. Best wishes, and God bless.

Hope You are STILL in the LOOKING cause you calling others Junkies is Judging; and YOU are dependent on drugs- addiction is Not being able to function ( Your Words) without that substance. Most doctors will tell you; you can use non-narcotic pain meds to control The pain you mentioned!

Not sure if you are aware, but Mac took his own life years ago!

You're right, this is old, but maybe refrain from being judge, jury, and executioner!

This was supposed to be a support group. We fell away from it due to posts such as yours.

Thanks for sharing, share time is over!

Re: MaC686 (# 10) Expand Referenced Message

I know this is old, but DAMN!! Why are you bothering with college if you are going on disability? You judge others, so here is YOU some judgement; I am 100% disabled, have 3 crippling diseases, and cannot get pain meds- anyone can become addicted ( dependent) on medication, YOU ARE NOT BETTER OR SPECIAL!! If you are able to attend college then YOU ARE NOT AS BAD OFF AS MANY FOLKS!! I cannot even walk my dog anymore due to pain interfering with my being able to sit or stand for long. It amazes me how some ppl like you name off your aches & pains then state how unlike junkies you are... I think YOU are the disgusting one, we could judge you being 21 yrs old, getting on disability & wanting narcotics, but you are ok with a free ride to college! ??

Re: MaC686 (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

That is why YOU cannot get anything!! Calling others junkie ass people, you are drug seeking yourself! If you are NOT dependent YET; you will be.. Oh, as old is this is; yea.

Hi , and Rainbowflowers! Good to see your name. Is CPR still helping ppl? I went to methadone clinic and it’s been the best for my pain. I don’t have to worry about the medicine stop working. It covers me 24 to 48 even 72 if I had to , sux I had to give in is hat I Anna say. I couldn’t afford pain man. Cash$ no longer. I haveMedicaid and Medicare.
I’m no goody goddy, but I have an some things at this s/ any clinic. Ppl will inject whatever drug in parking lot walk in and get a strong dose of methadone. It’s sad really. I can’t imagine doing any more than the methadone. It keeps me covered, not worrying cuz my pain spike and I took 3 more pills than prescribed for the whole Month..
Good luck to all of you one load of laundry at a time!

In order to get a pain pump they will do a dna study to see what will work best. This is for back pain. And its a blessing when done with patients honesty.Get rid of the pain and use products like folic acid stem cell, also make sure its not a cancer that weakens bones.make sure its not flank pain, which could be kidney. But the pump will give you back your life, what happens next is nutriotion for bone repair and strenth.stem cell products work. But are a touch expensive .

Thanks to Trump, You should seek out a dr that does medatronic pain pump. Low back pain? It will give you back your life on low dose localized treatment.Refil it once every three month. It takes about a year to tweak it perfect. I am on a tiny dose.Probably like 30 oxicontin every three month through the pump. Its like being in the hospitol, and having pain meds injected. Then you need to get your life back.Try stem cell products.
Our Politicians have declared war on DRs and there patients. I hope you will find the dr that does that.

Have you gone to a pain doctor? ALSO: I found out I genetically metabolize certain pain meds to fast, so taking oxycodone is out because before it can start working, it leaves my body. SO I am on a stronger one that lasts longer. (stonger opioid) I have a great pain doctor who gave me the test. You might want to ask for the test. And see a Pain Dr. I too live in Colorado

Hey I know it has been a long time but I am just now seeing this. I am not even sure if you still visit this forum but yes I was with CPR, but they let my provider go and I absolutely loved her so I went with her. I am doing ok, if I could just stop the domino effect of illnesses, I would be perfect.
As for Nate's mom, they handled that with efficiency and tact. Hang in the everyone, one day, one step at a time.

Why are you asking about the original group? We stopped posting for a while due to horrible people judging and creating drama!

I have been here a long time. Some are still here, I didn't get to go to the meet and greet, but I heard it was fun and everyone had a good time.

Re: MaC686 (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

Subutex, Xanax, and Adderall which are high prescribed in the northwest and Chicagoland area - so crazy that people I haven't seen for years who are not dope fiends or didn't know, are on either a combo or Xanax / Adderall and Suboxone, or Klonopin / Adderall and Subutex, or Vyvanse / Lorazepam or the shot of Buprenorphine (which I heard is the worst). You sweat the whole month. But all these good functioning people I've known forever are on this combo for back pain to be productive and to go to bed like w Xanax. It's crazy.
