Doctor Willing To Prescribe Xanax In New York Or Long Island?

Been suffering some really occasional but acute panic attacks and anxiety lately and am looking for the quick fix. I know that stuff is hard to come by. Does anyone know of an MD willing to prescribe either in New York or Long Island. For a sure thing I would even be willing to drive to jersey.

If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, so it would be necessary for you to go to a psychiatrist. Due to the new regulations that were set forth by the DEA last year, a general practitioner won't prescribe it for you.

And most doctor's aren't going to just want you to go for the quick fix, they will also want you to try other options and participate in a treatment plan.

The FDA lists this medication as being a Benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. It carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? That might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need.

I need to know of a doctor who takes Medicaid and who will prescribe Xanax. I also am on Methadone. I've been on Xanax for 10 years and when I started the Methadone, but I'd rather have my Xanax. My anxiety is out of control and I'm out of options at this point. Someone, please help me. I live in the Buffalo NY area. {edited for privacy}

Hello all... I just moved back home to Buffalo, NY after 8 years of being out of state. Does anyone know a dr who will continue my alprazolam prescription without making me feel like I'm a junky or something?
