Found this pill in my sons pack pack and I want to know what it is ## I haven't been able to find an exact listing for this, but the closest match I'm seeing is a white elliptical/oval shaped pill marked with 511 on one side and blank on the other (in black ink). There doesn't appear to be any yellow on either side, so I'm assuming that this probably isn't your pill. Hopefully this result can at least narrow down some of your options. Another person here on the site was looking for this same pill and was under the impression that it's probably something that's available over the counter. Have you tried asking your son where he got it from? ## I found this very big white pill while cleaning the garage. ( yeah a guy cleaning the garage) anyway it say: A 511 in ...

Dicorate Er 500-one tablet was given by the Neuurologist to my son aged 12 years, after dinner. He has been very agressive and his EEG report says that "Interictal State of seizure disorder". MRI brain report is "The non-contrast MRI findings of brain are within normal limits". By taking one tablet he has been feeling sleepy, but the neurologist has now suggested to take two tablets in a day to get good result. Is it wise to give two tablets in a day to my son. My wife is suffering from sever headache on and off... after tests and scans we found there is a lesion near her brain. a neuro surgeon said, it has to be removed through surgery. however a neuro physician said, head ache is not because of the lesion as it is harmless and has not shown any sign of sudden growth and headache could be due to mental stress and suggested dicorate er 250mg every day before going to bed... after the first two months of the tablet, she has started feeling head aches again... ## With 2 conflicting opinions, I'd suggest she seek another to try to get a definitive answer. I had an Rx filled and was supposedly 250 mg divalproex sodium ER. It is orange, oval shape, and number 512 one side, blank on other. I also have a white pill, oval shaped, with number 724 one side and W on other. I believe it to be the 500 mg version but need to verify. I transfer my Rx from pharmacy bottles to my own containers so they are a more convenient size for me. Dumb in retrospect. Can you help? Thanks, taxman ## Both of the tablets you've described are 250mg dosages. I wouldn't call you dumb, it's a very common mistake that a lot of people make and it's the reason sites like this exist. ;-) Is there anything else I can help with? I've been taking this medicine known as Desval Er 250 mg for the past 3 months every night. Is it safe to get pregnant while taking this medicine? ## Deval ER contains the active ingredient Divalproex Sodium, also known as Valproate Semisodium. It is not safe to take while you are pregnant, but it does not prevent you from getting pregnant, so yes, you still need to use some form of contraception. You can still get pregnant while taking this and it can cause severe birth defect to the child. ## I have been taking Desval ER 500 for more than 2 years now.
